Terry, you forget to show a picture of the back of the uniform

Being a lifelong Detroit sports fan, I am not big into the AD's "Oregon-lite" ventures. The Tigers home uniform has essentially stayed the same for nearly 100 years and the Red Wings for at least 70 years. M's uniform has essentially remained the same for at least as long with only minor changes made to the jerseys and numerals for the helmet. I think our design is iconic so why screw around with it.

There is a big debate on the M blogs over the issue between the traditionalists and those arguing that some changes to acknowledge modernity are needed to attract recruits and earn $$$. The "special jerseys" do seem to fly off retailer shelves. Yet, the top seller for sports merchandise are the Yankees who, like the Tigers, have retained the same look for decades.

Guess I am a entrenched memeber of the "old-fart-get-the-f**k- off-my-lawn" contingent on this issue.

Bobda same talk on ND boards, we've had 2 special uniforms this year and are holding our breaths about the Bowl game.

Of course as an Astros fan I never know what the uniform will look like from year to year! They are even talking about bringing back a modified version of the "iconic" Rainbow outfit. ..yessh.

I don't know how to increase the size of this photo. If I can get some help, I think you will agree that the 1976 White Sox uniforms are much worse than the old Astros' unis.

Yeah I don't remember those ...must have blocked them out...they are ugly. I'm surprised the players would even wear them.

I do remember the White Sox horrible shorts & collars uniforms, but as ugly as they were, the Astros were simply the worst of all time. Boog Powell famously called them "Hawaiian softball uniforms."

    re: baseball shorts
It took the Players Union about ten seconds to figure out that wearing softball shorts is a real bad idea in a game played with metal spikes and 220lb players sliding into bases at nearly 25mph...
