It's not final, but the word is going around that our home shed for next year will consist of: Florida Bama LSU Arkansas (counted as home game, but still in Dallas) At least we aren't going SMALL. ;-) Can't wait to see the price tag for my tickets next year.
That sounds pretty exciting, Scott, ticket prices not withstanding. The appearance of outstanding SEC teams year in and year out should ease the pain for those fans who mourn the loss of rivalry games with Texas and other B12 teams. There are new rivalries on the horizon. SEC fans are in for a real treat when they play A&M, as I learned attending the Cotton Bowls in 1992 and 1993. Also, A&M fans will enjoy away game trips to the SEC venues. It's going to be fun for A&M.
I had to look twice and make sure dave didn't post this. With that schedule, I'm sure furman and georgia southern aren't too far behind? 8)
Actually Furman might cause too many injuries for us to be ready for conference play... I heard we are inquiring with several 2A highschools...
Is the SEC staying with 8 league games or going to 9? Seems like now that the SEC is 14 teams that 9 conf games would make lot of sense.
Terry, They are saying it will be 8 games for 2012, and then go to 9 after that. Also said that Mizzou/A&M will be permanent cross division opponents. Not real exciting, but probably the best thing that could happen to us and it doesn't break up any of the existing permanent crossovers.
