With no BCS game under the Christmas tree, this is the next best thing. This is the game that I wanted. If we win, we declare ourselves rulers of the entire state of Florida and go home...

I liked the ND v Navy game is Dublin so much, I got plane tickets and a hotel room. I probably also go to Chitown for the Cane game.

Kelly says he's starting Rees. I'm hoping that he's just throwing that out there for FSU and plays Hendrix for most of this game.</t>

I think Kelly is excited about Hendrix's package. We are too.

This is the least enjoyable ND team that I can ever remember. Keep in mind, we've had plenty of teams that had less success on the field... The whole season has just been so underwhelming and disheartening to me.

Honestly, I wish we'd just play this thing next week and get it over.

    re: Lithuania

We'll take it...or Uzbekistan or Zimbabwe or whatever is out there.
In a year like this, we'll eat the small grasshoppers and call it a meal...

OCoord Charlie Molinar is leaving to take over the Head Coaching job at UMass, they are moving from 1AA to Div 1. Good luck to him.

Great! Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out! Now the Irish can sign someone who can tell the difference between the QB and the towel boy without any hints!

(For those keeping score at home, this was not a Penn State joke...)

Well the Champs Sports Bowl is offically a sellout for the first time in 22 years. Presence of the Irish the big factor. No doubt FSU being a home school helped but FSU has been to this bowl several times before and there was no sellout.

On other fronts, this is the Football banquet weekend which used to be the biggest recruiting weekend of the year for the Irish but with the way recruiting has changed only a few recruits will be in for the event.

Irish Women Basketball pounded Marquette last night, these girls are good. Whether or not they can win a NC of course is always another matter as UConn is also extremely good along with Baylor. But we should make a deep run in the NCAA tournament again.

I don't see Rees lasting long against this type of speed rush. Kelly's mystifying handling of personnel continues.....

Personally I think it's the right thing to do to start Rees. Hendrix has no starts and only about 50 or less plays under center. To name him the starter for the bowl game would put a lot of pressure on him, he should play quite a bit in the bowl game but not be the starter. He should get a lot of reps now that Crist is out of the picture, maybe 50% of the reps with the first team.

I think it's still PI to make a joke with a PSU reference but I can see at some point in the future that things may die down to the point of when the refs mess up against your team you will possibly say..."damn....we were just Sanduskied!!" :p

That should be a good test, Purdue has beaten last years Nat'l Champs the Aggies at their place.

Purdue had an excellent womens team for a long time, you had some great coaching. Carolyn Peck did a great job, till she left for the WNBA and I think the lady who replaced her also did a great job.
