I'm new to this B1G stuff, and this has been a wierd season to begin with, but I was curious...are we supposed to get along this week? I mean all week I've been thinking about these B1G refs, and all the horror stories from the ND fans here. is NU walking into a nightmare? AJ in Columbus (NE Version)
As long as Denard keeps on throwing as many picks as he does completions and our OC designs game plans that inhibit Denard from doing what he does best-running with the ball--you are not walking into a nighmare. We are expected to get along. If you watched the conduct of the BT Band of SB brothers when we played each other, you witnessed a strict protocol of respect and chivalry observed. At the end of the season following yet another OSU loss, I slowly walked to my computer and congratulated my Buckeye brethern on their annual and seemingly perpetal winning streak. No whining, no accusations of corruptions, no calls for Michigan to joining another conference--just a straight-up congrats. Twenty years ago, when Michigan used to beat the Buckeyes, they followed the same protocol. It is a gentleman's code of conduct.
I'm not saying it's in the works... but if the state of Ohio were ever to mobilize the National Guard to launch an offense... this would be the weekend.. The old rival, the young whipper snapper.. right in one place at the same time..
Nebraska, Ohio State or Michigan.......come on down to the Gator Bowl boys......hope we don't skeer ya too much with our "One and Done" offense engineered by that Notre Dame reject CW..... Seriously if Neb loses to Michigan they could be the Gator Bowl invite or I think if OSU loses another game either to Michigan or Penn St they will be the winners of that glamorous trip to Jacksonville. Damn.....since when did my hometown bowl game become such a losers bowl?
Hey I was always brotherly to you during Neb/Texas week, I just never had to come here and congratulate you very much after the game! Respectfully submitted, Your former brudder!
As far as the game goes, it should be an interesting one for the defenses. Denard Robinson is clearly one of the most exciting players in college, he is lightening with his feet...not so much with his arm. But your defense practices against that type of QB every day, and same for Michigan. Wonder which defense will be better prepared to contain the oppositions running QB and force him to do what he doesn't do well...throw the ball. I'm thinking Rex Burkhead will be the difference in this game.
