Bought for 421M, supposedly will sell for 821M-1.2B....not a bad profit. I wonder how long it will take to undo the damage that he and his wife did to the franchise?
LOL....I read that those two made 18M off selling the various media rights to their wedding. What a joke.

The Dodgers are a bargain at $1 billion. Remember, McCourt had already worked out a sweetheart deal with Fox that would have paid the Dodgers more than $3 billion just for the broadcast rights. MLB deemed that offer inadequate, which it was. The land alone (stadium + parking lots) is worth more than $6 billion, depending on what the city allows you to build there and the nearly 20 million Dodger fans who live within a 40 mile radius of the team are an endless source of cash. The O'Malley's used to halt season ticket sales at 40,000 every year, just so the walk-up customers would have a chance to see some games. I wouldn't worry about Dodger finances if an honest owner buys the team. The Dodgers are the civic religion here...
Speaking of the O'Malleys, I see that Peter O'Malley, age 73, would like to put together an investor group to buy the Dodgers. Any takers?
Mark Cuban supposedly has interest as well. I'm not sure about having an owner who already owns another franchise, but Cuban is certainly a guy who is driven to do things to build the franchise into a winner and is a hands on owner.
This highlights for me the dire situation the Astros are in with their sale. Drayton Mclain needs to go as an ower, he wants to sell he didn't have near the interest that the Dodgers have according to that article and when he finally found a buyer MLB has stalled the whole transaction so much so that they buyer is considering bailing on the sale if something doesn't get done by Nov 30th. If we go to spring training with Drayton as the owner we'll lose another 100 games in 2012, Minute Maid Park attendance wiill rival a Marlins game.
