I'll get this out early today since I can't play golf this AM, there is some strange wet stuff coming from the Sky I can't ever remember seeing it...it must have something to do with Rick Perry and the EPA.

    1. Big Game in Lincoln last night. Braxton Miller looked like he was going to crush the Huskers, and the points I put on them. But then he gets hurt and the worst QB I have ever seen comes in for him and the Huskers get new life, the Ohio State D falls apart and the OSU offense disappeared. I'm still not convnced that Martinez is a very good QB, but #22 is a heck of a RB and plays with a lot of passion and fire. That's why the Huskers were able to come from behind and win.

    2. Denard Robinson beats Northwestern! I think UM is this years MSU a team that has won close games, had some bounces go their way, but are flawed enough that I can't see them going undefeated but as long as DR stays healthy they will be in every game. Do they play Wisconsin?

    3. Ugh. Longhorns absolutely annihilated by OU, Byron Harsin trickery was worse than a failure. I'm surprised that Stoops didn't hang more points he likes to run up the score. Longhorns just too young. And guess what folks, things don't get easier as we have Oklahoma State coming to town next Sat. I fear we will see another blood bath.

    4. Irish! Great win vs a very tough Air Force team. That Air Force offense
is really something to watch. This same Air Force offense came close to upsetting OU in Norman last year, and out stated them in every way but the scoreboad (27-24). So while naturally I wished we'd handled their offense better, I'm really happy with the win. Off week next. much needed.

    5. LSU/Gators. Nothing shocking here. LSU defense vs Gator Freshman QB. Les Miles even had the backup qb throw a Tim Tebow jump pass for a TD.

    6. Bama, kp might not have liked the way the Tide won, but after a big emotional road win over UF. It was nice not to have to be perfect to win. Just play and win. No big deal. Lou Holtz once said you can only get a team really up for few games each year and you have to pick and chose as the motivator when to push the team and when to take your foot off the gas. Nick Satan did just that, good solid win, lots of coaching points to work on next week, etc . Perfect not so perfect win!

    7. Stanford? Did they play last night? I went to bed after the Husker game and I think their game started late on the West Coast so nobody here in the Central timezone bothered to watch. :)

    8. Boise State, Friday night game nobody saw against somebody, they won big but are becoming increasingly irrelevant for the moment.

    9. Oregon...Was that injury to LaMichael James about as ugly an injury as you've seen. Before that he was awesome..but I don't see how he can play next week vs Arz State. That will be a big loss for the Ducks.

    10. ASU...has NCAA's tallest QB and are a pretty good team. Oregon game next week will tell us how good even if Oregon doesn't have James.

    11. A&M...lead at half time, so I figure well the lead wasn't nearly big enough to with stand their 2nd half collapse. Turns out it was, Texas Tech outscored them 20-14 in the 2nd half but the Ag's had an 11 point lead and held on for the win. Phew! Bet they never ever go back to Lubbock again.

    12. OK State hung 70 on a bad Kansas team, played the reserves the whole 2nd half. Maybe the best offense in college football, but they don't have the best defense that will ultimately be their undoing. But not next week, I just hope they don't hang 70 on my Longhorns.

    13. I have to mention Illinois, do you know Ron Zook is still there? They are quietly having a very good year, their QB who I remember from that shootout at UM 2 years ago where he couldn't throw but UM couldn't stop him on the option now throws decently. These guys might end up with a pretty good season. When Zook was in his first couple of years his recruiting was off the charts for Illinois and they made the Rose Bowl but he's been on thin ice since then, but this year might be a corner turner for him. Who knows. If Braxton Miller isn't 100% or doesn't play for OSU next week the Illini should beat them.

    14. Rankings, probably won't be much movement this week. FSU will drop out, Texas will drop like a rock but I wouldn't be shocked if they still hang in there, same thing for Fla could hang in there. or both could drop out. I think the Irish will crawl into the #25 slot, but it will be close. If both UF and Texas drop out then we'll be in. But there are some teams ahead of us in the "others" recieving votes.

This just in...Ohio State fans are working on a plan to film Joe Bauserman taking 5K from one of them and then giving the film to the NCAA. :)

I do believe there is some tie in with the B12 and the Gator Bowl. Not sure what it is though.

Terry, Michigan does not play Wisconsin during the regular season. However they could meet in the Championship game.

Nice comeback win by Nebraska, very nice.

Oklahoma may have their hands full with Oklahoma State.

I don't know how the Gator season is going to play out. As long as we are having to go with a true freshman at QB we are probably in trouble. Hopefully it will pay off in the future.

I always pull for Zook and hope he keeps winning this year. But Illinois is in the same division as Wisconsin.

    - Texas Tech fans filled the Texas A&M team busses with manure and spray painted the outside of the busses with obscenities...

    - Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez is a local kid from here (Centennial High School, Corona, CA.) and I saw him play. None of the local schools wanted him. I'm not even sure that any western schools made him an offer. He was a 3-star recruit and was only the #44 ranked QB in the state of California. His high school days were a lot like his college days. He's a very fast and shifty runner, who throws like a girl, but his teams keep winning and winning and winning...

    - Stanford obliterated Colorado. It looked a lot like the Texas-OU game without the personal vendetta...

    - Neither Colorado or Utah has won a game in the 12Pac. They're now 0-5...

    - Boise State obliterated Fresno State in one of the worst beatings the Valley Bulldogs have ever suffered. The game was at Fresno...

    - In the middle of the Pac; Washington has lost only at Nebraska and Arizona State has lost only at Illinois...

    - Arizona has won only one game and Little Stoops must be in trouble. If Rick isn't too busy, I hope he will find time to post his analysis of what's going on at his alma mater...

Scott would probably disagree with that statement, and from the scope of the vandalism, it doesn't look like a very few individuals could have accomplished the task in such a short time.

No Fla team in the top 25, this is the first time this has happened since 1982 according to what I have read.

Re: Tech fans. They have several times vandalized buildings/statues on the A&M campus when they played in College Station.

Re: Mike Stoops, he's had a pretty long rope there in Az and you have to feel it's pretty much at the end for him.

Re: Gators and true freshman QB. Charlie seems to need experience at QB maybe more so than other OCoordinators. He had a vet in Brady Quinn who picked up things from him like a sponge, but when highly recruited Jimmy Clausen showed up he struggled for most of 2 years in learning the system, of course Jimmy wasn't helped by the fact that the 2007 team was terrible so he had nobody around him. But we'll see.

Wow. In the middle of the season too. One year ago he was riding high after beating Iowa, but everything has fallen apart since then. It had to be done. AZ has access to tons of talent in the southwest. They're close to the hotbed recruiting grounds in San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Las Vegas; not to mention having Tucson all to themselves and being within a short flying distance of West Texas. There's just no excuse to lose at Arizona that I can see...

Perfect situation for the Pirate, Mike Leach, doubt if he gets the job though too much baggage. But I'll bet they make a run at Chris Pederson of Boise State, who I doubt would leave Boise for the Az job.

As far as how good the Az job is, I just don't know. All those area's that JO'Co mentioned with the exception of W.Texas have lots of competition from Az State and other Pac12 programs.

Man Steve Spurrier was on a roll today. He kicked Stephen Garcia off the team for the 100th time today and for good measure he kicked a reporter named Ron Morris out of his press conference for a story he wrote about 6 months ago, said it's been gnawing at him and he had to get it off his chest that it was a total fabrication and with that kicked him out.

    Spurrier is always interesting!

Pretty funny JO'Co and you could well be right. :)

Garcia graduated last June, according to his father he apparently had two beers which was against the conditions of him being back. He has packed up and moved home to Florida. I don't think you will see him again.

ESPN is reporting that Ohio State spent 142K to pay the legal fees of athletes involved in the current problems. Can they do that legally? I always thought that players/athletes had to get their own lawyers and pay them. It would seem to me that would be an "extra" benefit if the University paid them.

The article said that the lawyer claimed the funds were not from the OSU general fund, but wouldn't say where exactly they came from and deferred questions back to Ohio State.

    OSU paid legal fees

Now we probably will receive more NCAA sanctions because this will result in more charges for giving football players more their due than a regular student!

I think the Bucks need a new AD. This guy doesn't seem to be on the same page as the NCAA.
