Man must have been nirvana in Detroit this weekend....Tigers beat the Yankees and the Lions had an amazing comeback vs the Cowboys to remain unbeaten. This is a bigger sign of the turnaround in Detroit than GM, Ford and Chrysler making a profit!

And....Michigan is back ranked at #12.....and MSU beat Ohio State!

No doubt I have a lot of family, friends, acquaintances, bar buddies, etc. etc. who are quite giddy at the moment.

Happy times in the shithole. Difficult TV watching when your football team is mounting the greatest road comback in NFL history while the hometown pitcher is working on a no-hitter in the playoffs.
Hard to decide what's better sticking it to the Cowboys or the Yankees. (plenty of votes for the Buckeyes too! :) )

frickin' ROMO. frickin' Jason Garrett. wtf?? Up by forever, and you're still passing on first down, when the running game is still working, too?? OMFG Sherman needs to keep his second half game plans to himself.

Yankees are like Notre Dame.... they have their loyal fans and everyone else hates them regardless of which team they personally root for.

I was looking for the Astros playoff game last night. I guess my cable company doesn't subscribe to that outlet....... :?:

When you leave the bases loaded all night you lose. Congratulations, Gipper. Good luck the rest of the way.

OK Gipper ...go for it.....take it all. I recall 1935, 1940, and 1945 when my man Hank Greenberg won it all!

I love Mitch Albom...great writer . Years ago there was another great sports writer for the Sporting news and Free press..cant think of his name now..but we used to e mail each other whenever detrot played boston.

Krebsie..sorry my man..but this is my day on the internet for some serious SCHADENFREUDE!

Jerry Green, Joe Falls and Mike Downey were the top scribes when I moved here in the 70's.

Do you remember Al Kaline and Harvey Kuenn, Joel?

My dad was a Tigers fan, he loved Mickey Cochrane.

I often forgot how much experience there is on this board. So cool.

On another note, not to let the Tigers, Lions, Wolverines, Spartans, have all the in-state pride, the Red Wings and Pistons BOTH are tied for first in their respective leagues! And word has it, if the lockout goes on much longer, the Pistons could END this season tied for first as well. Simply amazing.
