Interesting transition season for the Irish. Old CCHA on the way out, ND has not yet decided on which conference it will play in the options are Hockey East and the NCHC. Not sure what will be the determining factor. The NCHC looks like a solid conference with the following lineup.

Maybe there is more money/TV in Hockey East though?

    Colorado College
    UMD
    UNO
    WMU
    Denver
    Miami
    North Dakota
    St. Cloud State

Here's a cool video on the new Irish rink. I honestly thought before watching this video that the ice in a rink was put down by laying a hose out there and filling it up to a certain depth 1" or 2" I didn't know, then freezing it and followed up by smoothing and leveling with the Zamboni. Apparently not!!!

That is a cool video! Like you, Terry, I did not know how they laid the ice. Very interesting.

Irish apparently will join Hockey East. I don't know enough to have an opinion on which conference was best for the Irish. For some reason I thought Hockey East contained some of the Ivy's as well, but it doesn't.
The new National Conference looks more attractive than that bunch though.
I'm sure as it always does in sports these days that the whole thing turned on how much money could be made.
