In reading this article the thought occurs that if either Bama or LSU has only one loss and then the other goes undefeated then the above scenario could happen.

What are the chances though of Oklahoma and Wisconsin both getting a loss also? That would need to happen but if it did are there any other strong candidates other than the usual Boise for an undefeated season?

Would be bad for football, just like a rematch of the 2006 Mich/Ohio State game in the BCS Title game would have been.

I agree Terry with your statement.

I would say chances of it happening are about 15%..

Either LSU or Bama could win that game.....but lose another...

OR....either Wisky or OU could stay unbeaten.....

BUT....if one of Bama/LSU is indefeated and the other only lost to the other......then the sentiment will be there for a rematch because Nov. the 5th is just early enough.

But for me.....being the non-playoff proponent that I am.....the national semi-final for each will have been the game on the 5th plain and simple and the loser is out.

I wonder if this could be an odd year where the team that loses the Bama/LSU game only loses that game, and the winner goes on to lose to a SEC East team in the SECCG that is not in the BCS top 5. Could a 1x beaten SEC team who did not play for the SECC play for the Nat'l Title. It's happened before...or did they make a rule against that?

I think Nebraska and I believe Oklahoma already went that route....losing the conference title game and mucking it up in the BCS title game.

I think that scenario has been thankfully ruled out.

It has been my opinion for a long time that if you don't win your conference in football you don't belong in the Championship game.

Agreed but is it the rule now?
