1st qtr of a 1 hr 39 minute weather delayed game was nothing to get overly excited about but was not the rusty hinge that some teams are experiencing. At the midway point of the first qtr, Tyler had thrown only two passes with two completions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

At the end of the first qtr, Tennessee has the ball at mid-field with the score still 14 to 0.

Six minutes left in the game and the win is in the bag. Just need to finish strong and not let up. 42 to 16 is going to be hard to come back from for Montana.

    Items in need of work:

Containment: When a mistake happens to the opposing offense, our defense tends to swarm to the area of the mistake and allows the person with the ball to break containment.

offensive line: run blocking is almost non-existent.

kick return: hold on to the dang ball!

Other than that, I was very pleased.

Montana is glad to get out of there with their payday money. The rest of their schedule doesn't contain many Tennessee's, although Sacramento State did upset Oregon State and sits in a good recruiting area:

09/10/11 vs. Cal Poly Missoula, Mont. 1:00 p.m. MT
09/17/11 vs. Eastern Washington * Missoula, Mont. 1:00 p.m. MT
09/24/11 at Sacramento State * Sacramento, Calif. 7:00 p.m. MT
10/01/11 vs. Northern Colorado * Missoula, Mont. 1:00 p.m. MT
10/08/11 at Idaho State * Pocatello, Idaho 4:00 p.m. MT
10/15/11 vs. Portland State * Missoula, Mont. 1:00 p.m. MT
10/22/11 at Northern Arizona * Flagstaff, Ariz. 4:00 p.m. MT
10/29/11 vs. Weber State * Missoula, Mont. 1:00 p.m. MT

I hope he wears those things every game. Hell, I hope he takes the field against Florida in Orange and White striped pants. That was glorious and certainly no worse than Georgia's uniforms.

As I said in another section, I'm just surprised that you weren't playing on shag carpet ;)

He can hang a disco ball over the bench and wear bright orange bell bottom pants. As long as the team keeps winning I could not care less....

Next game I will attend is the Tennessee game.

Let me say that Doley is welcome to wear whatever pants he wants to wear. :)

    Good win for the Vols.
