Boy there sure are a lot of Ponzi schemes. Of course Maddox was the biggest, but there was a Houston guy who committed suicide recently when his scheme was uncovered and some big name coaches turned out to be his investors. I also read recently that Ty Detmer lost 2 million to a shifty scheme.

If half of what I read is true, Miami is in trouble.

This makes me nervous since he is our new recruiting coordinator:

    http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20110816/ARTICLES/110819571?tc=cr

I know how the Gator Nation and Jeremy Foley feels about this kind of crap.

If Aubrey Hill operates that way....whether he has done it at UF or not.....he is gone.

He says he was clean at Miami......but who wouldn't say that.

In any event the Miami program was not under watchful eyes if all of this was true and man....what a slimeball this Shapiro is.

Man Miami has got to be headed to a dark place.

    Mandel on Miami

I wonder when Paul Dee and Donna Shalala will tender their resignations. Or if not how they will justify their stewardship over all this, the Sgt. Schultz defense?

MCG, no way should Aubrey Hill coach another day at UF he's toast. He, like Dee and Shalala, will only be able to offer that weak Sgt. Schultz defense...I know nothing.

"I wonder when Paul Dee and Donna Shalala will tender their resignations."

The article mentions that Dee is retired.
Mandel certainly is whining about USC getting tagged. Hell, ND got hit for not knowing what gifts players were getting from a girlfriend. USC didn't know its star RB's folkes moved into a $600,000 house?

I know the arguement about poor kids not being able to resist the temptation of impermissable benefits. What about Kellen Winslow Jr.?

Should have been an awesome, AWESOME RB in the NFL....when Dr. Tom can't help ya....you're lost.

BTW Doc, that picture of Phillips didn't make a point of the original post. It's all about the Money and it's all about the "U"

No disrespect to Ralph....I've NEVER hidden my disdain when it comes to the Crimicanes....let's just say that Karma is a wonderful lubricant in the hands of AJ right now...

I make no apologies, it sounds like a total lack of institutional control and let's face it even if Satan himself named this many names and had as many video clips and pics with the school president we would have to believe him.

I am disgusted as a fan and feel bad for coach Golden who inherited a major case of herpes just by association with the university. My father graduated from Miami, I took classes there and have loved the team since I was walking in diapers. But if this is true and the convicted felon who stole $930 million from honest people used the money to pay for hits and a stripper to have sex with a player who later got pregnant and had to pay for the abortion from the act along with other crap I will never cheer for them again.

This is not my first rodeo with Miami taking the dark path and honestly I am tired of apologizing for their behavior I would not stand for in my worse drunken moments...

Speak up, say what you like, you cannot offend me anymore than the news of the last couple of days.... :x

No fans deserve this type of kick in the gut. This well could be a terminal disease. I admire your candor. So many individuals caused this catastrophe. The administration should pay a steep price.
I'm sure all of us here are really sorry for your loss.

Purdue QB Robert Marve, what is going to happen to him? Will Purdue with hold him from playing? They are in a tough place right now. A quick trip to the Purdue site reveals that Purdue feels there are no issues with Marve and will play him. Wow...I wonder if they read this?
