Ok, too easy, take out Wisc at their place, beat up OSU in Lincoln in front of Corso and Co., and then wait. I hate waiting.
Good thing you moved to the B1G, your #2 there while you'd be #4 in the B12! I sincerely believe that you will see Texas steadily moving up in the polls early in the season and be in the top 15 when they go to Dallas to play OU.
Dang it....if we played at Texas, Ohio State or under the Golden Dome then we might just have a schedule:   #2 Alabama #4 at LSU #5 FSU #12 at SouCar #19 at Auburn #22 Georgia
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA How is FSU #5? They were 10-4 last year, true but they played in a terrible ACC. They beat South Carolina but who here didn't beat the SEC East last year? They were absolutely slaughtered by Oklahoma. They were also beaten by North Carolina, NC State and Virginia Tech. Their most impressive win of the year came against the worst BYU team that I can remember in my life.. Auburn.. returning the fewest starters in all of college football.. Have you seen how their schedule plays out? They'll be lucky to go bowling. Did Georgia finish .500 last year after they were beaten by UCF in their bowl game? I can't remember. I don't think they did. You have 3 ranked 'rep only' teams there. The other 3 teams on that schedule figure to beat you and will be stout.
By rule the coaches poll can not contain any team on probation. I'd be surprised if USC didn't show up in the AP poll.
Oh come now....surely you don't forget the New Year's Day slaughter? Oops...didn't see the EAST part of the equation. Too bad UF plays at Aub and LSU and Bama at home from the West or maybe you would have a point although two of the east is ranked.....such as ND's schedule ( see below) Terry......seriously man.....three top 5 teams. Would you want that schedule for your team? ND plays #6 Stanford and #17 Michigan State........hmmmmmm Only 5 away games with three of those at very familiar semi-annual places and the other two at Pitt and Wake Forest. Trade ya....
I seriously question FSU at $5, but the Gators play a very good schedule even given the 1AA teams on the schedule. I really only commment on your schedule though to keep you grounded in reality and avoid you comparing it playing in the NFL!
The #5 ranking may not hold any value, matter of fact the whole stupid idea of having a poll this early is just about insane but I digress from why I posted. FSU will be a major player this year with their dominant defense and speed. I still have questions with their QB but there will not be many teams scoring on them. We will find out soon enough when the Sooners visit on Sept 16 in Tally.
It's just too early and all we have to go on is last year and what is returning from last year. I still don't see FSU at 5. One interesting thing about the two sure fire top 5 teams on Florida's schedule is that they both have major question marks at quarterback. That's usually not a good thing for a team looking to make an NC run. LSU returns more experience at the position, but is he any good? Alabama has talent but.. inexperienced QBs have a way of hurting their team on the road at times and Saban will most certainly have a short leash on them and the OC, which could play into the hands of a strong defense.
Some of these preseason rankings won't last long. Oregon plays LSU right off the bat and Bosie State is at Georgia. The results of these contests may knock some teams completely out of the rankings altogether...
I think Tennessee is at #83... Always did want to be in a submarine hunting battleships. Terry, Florida's schedule can't be too strong, they play Vandy and Tennessee. :?
Georgia disappears after Boise State dispatches them. USc may very well take their place. When Notre Dame travels they travel. They need more than a Happy meal and a taxi to get to where they're going.
....and the aforementioned OU-FSU. Makes you look forward to gettin this thing goin. Man....at least we are talking about it in earnest finally! Corey.....supposedly UF's D-line is a team strength....which is always good to have in the SEC and may give those new Qbs some trouble....I hope. Way too low for the Vols Tom....way too low. I think DD may surprise a few people. Speaking of surprises.....look out for Lou Holt'zs son returning to South Bend with the Bulls.
Lou Holtz' son will be looking for the first train out of South Bend by the end of the third quarter.
Don't underestimate.....'Da Bulls! Hey....my oldest son just moved down to Tampa from Kalamazoo with his wife and will start his Masters program of studies in math next week at USF so I guess they will finally have to become my second team now. Go Bulls!
Skip is a good coach. He will have the Bulls competitive in the BE. Hopefully, he will start the season 0-1.
Fla.'s Sept Schedule based on 2010 Sagarin final ratings # 155 # 116 # 63 # 74 Whew, can't have a much tougher month than that!!!
