I remember how he and George Webster destroyed the ND offense in the 1965 game at ND my senior year. The score was 12-3, and, although not 100% certain, I believe we had minus rushing yardage. We had a decent team that year, sandwiched between the 1964 almost undefeated team and the 1966 national champs. Of course, the 1966 game in which he and Webster played is historic.

Bubba finished his career in Houston, but by then he was a shell of his former self but he was well liked. His college teammate, George Webster, was gone from Houston by the time he arrived and unlike Bubba who became an Actor with some great roles in those Police Academy films and the Beer commercials, Webster died a few years ago broke and disabled.

My ex-wife is from Beaumont where Bubba was from, and Bubba's mother was the typing teacher at her high school.

    Kill Bubba Kill!! :)
