Best defense I've seen in a long, long time by SC in the bottom of the 9th in a 1-1 game. Long story short....FL has men on 1st and 3rd with no outs. SC gets out of the inning with two superb defensive plays. Going into the top of the 10th.......

THAT!!...was a hell of a game. The decision to load the bases up was good sound baseball tactics, and it worked. More memories for Omaha.

    Some game.

These two teams are very evenly matched.

Gators now need to win two in a row.

How ironic that in a game as well played as that one, the winning run was scored on a double error. On to game #2.

The Gamecocks win two back to back College World Series. They went 10-0 in this post season play, a new record. Amazing!

Two excellent games played by the Gamecocks. In game 2, they used great pitching, timely hitting, and old-fashioned hustle to pull out the win. Both games were fun to watch.

For all you dads who spend countless hours on bleachers cheering you kids on, here's a story for you.

Nice story. I don't think he'll be unemployed for long. Like his son said, the SC nation will support him. Heck, his old employer may end up begging him to come back after the notoriety he's gained.

That story was written after the super regionals and before the CWS. If I'm the dad, I'm certain I made the right decision. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If I'm the dad's ex-employer, I'm thinking he will have a pretty big following and should sell a lot of cars. If I'm the dad's ex-employer's competitor, I'm going to give him a call.

I'm a little late here, but congratulations to good well coached team for winning the CWS. This time I expected the Gators to win, but it just wasn't to be.

However losing to another SEC team lessons the blow.
