For a month we are off tomorrow morning. A three day trip to get there. We are staying in Timberland RV Park just outside Acadia National Park. My wife made a little writeup about our RV in her blog, Backyard Neighbor. She's going to write about the park later when we get there. We expect to arrive Friday. Backyard Neighbor
Those pictures make it look bigger on the inside than it is on the outside!! Have a great trip and keep us all posted. I guess from your post you are driving straight through to Maine no stops or side trips. If you go up 95 be sure to waive to George and Jif as you go by!
"Acadia National Park." Beautiful place. My job took me to Newport, R.I. last fall and then to Portland, Me. and all the way up the coast of Maine near Bar Harbor, Me. Drove through the Aacadia NF along the way. Lots of coastal vistas to see. Enjoy!
I discussed the trip through the min state with Bill..He is taking the long way up..via Interstate 84. Its 150 miles longer..but he misses the Beltway..the NJTP..NYC...and the mini state and beantown
Bill, Hope you and the wife have a safe and enjoyable trip. Good gracious, Google Maps and now Jiffer Maps!
Joel, Being familiar with that area of the country via past trips to visit relatives, I can confirm that you gave Bill good advice. Don.....Jiffer maps......LOL!
Sid... actually Bill told ME that he was going that way. I was wondering if he was coming straight up 95
I got my route two ways, Map Quest and AAA. They both agreed so that is the way we are going. Yes we are going straight though, just stopping two nights to sleep. Both of them at a WalMart where they allow folks to stay over night. No electric etc, but the biggest advantage is no disconnecting and setup. Just open up and go to sleep. We lived in this RV for my last two years in Florida while we were getting our house built here and making the transition to NC.
PS, would love to have met Joel for a cup of coffee, but after the two places I went for a route took me around the areas discussed above I didn't feel comfortable changing.
$40 per night savings and it is a tradition among many RVers. When you are simply resting overnight and plan to move on toward your destination the next morning, it is very convenient to pull into a Walmart.
... also safer than a rest stop on the interstate. Walmarts hire several Barney Fifes to monitor the lots at nights.
