I agree Stu.....I don't recall many if any Buckeye fans being overly critical of Florida's NCAA troubles in the early 90s back in my first forays on Prodigy. There were several Prodigy members who were though and who obviously didn't care to understand the truth of the situation and I don't even recall if anyone left here on Skybox fits in that category......if so maybe they themselves remember. My comment was directed at those particular individuals as well as the media types or national fan base in general who were overjoyed to see UF squirm in 1990 and who were quick to dismiss Florida's success under Spurrier in the 90s as undeserved and ill-gotten. In any event....I personally do not "dance" on anyone's NCAA grave because that can come back and bite you right in the ass and as I said I am always leery of what the NCAA is up to and of their perpetually inconsistent application of penalties and of their interpretation of rules violations.
If things get tough (financially) for Pryor and Co. come Oct...I can contact some folks I know in Lincoln and set up a signed memorabelia session prior to the game? Let me know, I'm here to help out my B1? Bros and Sista's...
So.....there you have it. No Meyer to Ohio State: http://eye-on-college-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/24156338/28866527
Texas fans actually do think that when Brown retires in a few years that Urban Meyer will be ready to coach again and he'll be the man.
My own personal view - or hope - call it what you will, is that the only way he leaves Columbus is if the NCAA plays the "show cause" card, which in his case, I honestly don't believe they will....however, if they do, and he is compelled to step down, he won't be able to coach ANYWHERE for some time depending on the severity of the NCAA's ruling......
BT, I would doubt that he would ever coach again. I have no doubt that he is financially set and I doubt for him there would ever be another job like Ohio State.
The NCAA will do whatever it wants to do! They have demonstrated that their own processes mean nothing to them, they only follow them if they want to. Having said that, lying to them is the one thing that is probably cut and dried. Bruce Pearl comes to mind. Everyone thinks the NCAA is out of line when they come after the home team, the problem is the NCAA has no oversight.
Agreed......that's why they appear at times to be so inconsistent. It's like a bad ref who has no one overseeing his mistakes.
Hey Corey, we did okay. Got power back on last night. Not too bad in our area just east of Decatur. Huntsville took a lot of hits though. It appears most of the deadly stuff was in the Tuscaloosa/Birmimgham corridor along I-59. A lot to be thankful for.
Seriously, was there any doubt? After a season where he allowed inelligible players to play the complete BT season, Tressel then had Delaney the tool pimp for him for the players to play in the bowl. The commish looks like a complete ass.
KP, Glad to hear you and your family escaped any serious damage from all that bad weather in parts of Alabama. Viewing that damage and strife on TV makes the problems with Ohio State football seem rather remote.
