Luke, currently assistant defensive and linebacker coach for the Buckeyes will act as head coach during the five game suspension of Jim Tressel.

    Things getting dicey...
    Tressel

I also saw someplace, I forget where, that after a year in the booth at ESPN Urban Meyer will come down and take the Ohio State Job when Tressel resigns under pressure or maybe because he's disgusted with the whole thing like Don James was at Washington.

    Terry,

I agree things do not look good and seem to worsen with every new bit of information that comes forth.

No doubt in my mind that the penalties will be severe, both against Tressel and the university. Maybe not a death penalty, due to lack of institutional control, but forfeit of games, loss of schholarships and post season play.

99% of that is old news....the only new information that I can determine is that JT had more contact with others than had been previously released, including Pryor's mentor and an FBI agent. Everything else is pretty much as had been discussed in the presser and the self-report to the NCAA, including JT's certification of compliance to the NCAA......

On the positive side, the NCAA indicated that it will not cite the program for failure to monitor and lack of institutional control......the bad news is that the process will continue until at least August when the NCAA releases it's final report.....but it definitely sucks the big one.

Not the best of times for the Buckeye Nation......

From a "want to" standpoint I could see Meyer taking this.....the only job in CFB that he would consider coming out of retirement for.... because it is no secret that he likes the Buckeyes and at one time had a portrait of Woody hanging in his den while he coached at Florida.

But......the health issue would not go away and if he coached the Buckeyes he would be as pressured and as intense as he ever was at UF so that leaves me doubtful he would be leaving ESPN to do that.....just yet.
