whoa...Irish do win at UConn. Very exciting game. Ben Hansborough fouls out on a stupid foul with 8:30 to go and UConn then goes on a big run with Kemba Walker seemingly scoring at will. But Irish finally put out the fire and finish strong. Very good win, not just because it was a road win, but because they had to do it with their best player sitting on the bench.

    Go Irish.

<t>Decker is a definite need at the OT position. I think he's one of those guys that may not be an immediate impact but 2 years from now we'll be glad we took him.</t>

Well Duke losing and Purdue losing helps the Irish for the moment with our seeding. Interesting note, Duke is 1-2 vs the Top 25, while Notre Dame is 8-3 vs the top 25. 11 games vs top 25 competition...that's why the Big East is the toughest conference around.

Still need to make it to the BET Championship game to have the shot at a #1 seed.

    Doc,

Now you have to go to confession. You used the words Mike Brey and John Wooden in the same sentence...

I'll be interested to see how this all plays out.

The whole damned Big East is ranked (or so it seems) but there's some of those teams who haven't been playing well for some time.. It seems to be a given that they are going to get a ton of teams in.. if they fold like a house of cards (they've done that before), there will be some angry people in other conferences.

Great win for the Irish esp given Hans going down to fouls.....they could have gone in the tank after giving up the lead in those circumstances but showed alot of guts to sack up and pull out a win.....has to do great things for their confidence going in to the BE tourney. They are one of my sleepers going into the dance....

Irish Ladies win yesterday vs Louisville, now on to the rubber match with DePaul, they beat DePaul at home and were an eyelash from winning at DePaul...I like our chances on a neutral court.

Also Notre Dame Spring Game will be televised on Versus. A good by product of the NBC/Comcast merger.

Interesting development with the takeover of NBC by Comcast. There will be a tie in with Versus. That network is apparently going to televise the spring game. Plan on an early tee time on April 16.

That's the mud and wind season. Sure to absolutely screw up your already pathetic swing. Can shoot some decent scores that time of year because the rough hasn't started to really grow yet. And the greens are so soft....

Mike Brey, Yahoo Sports Nat'l Coach of the Year. Congrats to Coach Brey, he did more with less than anybody in America of that I have no doubt.

Great News....Irish finish regular season ranked #4.

Bad News ...I read on another board that Jim Seymour is gravely ill and fighting for his life. He was a great player for the Irish. I'll never forget that coming out party at Purdue, Hanratty and Seymour shocked the Boilermakers and everybody else that day.
