I read this in CFN and now I am concerned that Chollie may not be able to work much magic this year at Florida:

    "6. Florida O-line
As inconsistent as the Florida blockers were last fall, the situation could get even worse in 2011. From that erratic group, four starters were seniors, Mike Pouncey, Carl Johnson, Maurice Hurt, and Marcus Gilbert. And although none earned all-star honors, all were invited to the NFL Combine and hope to have budding pro careers. Besides T Xavier Nixon and guards James Wilson and Jon Halapio, the Gators will be painfully light on blockers with starting experience. Sam Robey is the favorite at center, and Nick Alajajian, Christopher Guido, Jonotthan Harrison, Kyle Koehne, and William Steinmann saw field time in 2010, but that’s hardly comforting. Making matters worse, Will Muschamp’s first recruiting class doesn’t include any linemen capable of starting immediately."

Damn......Weis will feel right at home....sorta like when freshman phenom Jimmy Clausen had no O-line and was getting the crap knocked out of him on a frequent basis.

As an offensive coordinator my belief is that Charlie will be worth it.

He has had some great offenses in various places but as I say.....his O-line next year may inhibit his offense's production much to the dismay of an impatient Gator Nation.

It looks like a brutally physical season coming up for an already battered John Brantley.

He had better improve considerably on getting rid of the ball quicker.

You're line may be suspect but you will have a "decided schematic advantage". 8)

No O-Line, I don't think Charlie ever had a good O-Line when he was at ND. His first OL coach was not on the same page as he was, and by the time he made the change it was too late. The guy who he hired that was supposed to be on the same page, arrived too late. He's the guy you are starting out with so maybe things will turn around faster, assuming he and the OL coach are on the same page now.

It will certainly be interesting to see the developement of the Fla offense, Charlie will be able to recruit kids he never had a shot at while at ND so he should in the next 3 years recruit some great players to UF (on offense).

Good point. Charlie in 2007(?) had the worst offensive line in college football history. They shattered the single season sacks allowed record, giving up 58 sacks. They couldn't open a hole with a stick of C4.

Remember the BC game when NT BJ Raj Threw OG Eric Olsen eight yards deep into the backfield?

The fact that Jimmy Clausen survived that season should have qualified him for a Heisman.

Yes Charlie is worth the money.

While I agree he may have get some players he wouldn't have gotten at Notre Dame, the other side of the coin is that I think the Gators may get some players we wouldn't have gotten without him.

I think Charlie is worth the money. He's no head coach, but he's a great OC. If he's allowed to do his thing, the Gator offense should be fine.

I think UF just needs to match up OC with recruiting coordinators. Don't recruit a drop back qb with a spread offense.

Florida is actually saving money this year compared to last with regard to how it pays it's coaches.

    I agree......that was inhuman......and hard to watch.

Charlie is a great OC. The only possible concern would be can he limit himself to writing game plans. Once you been the lead singer its hard to be a backup. Maybe he has finally conceded to his health.

Hey, if you take the total weight of the Yankee pitching staff and divide it into the total payroll you'll see we're scraping by at hamburger prices.
