Coach Tressel has announced the hiring of Stan Drayton to coach our wide receivers. He will replace Hazel, who is now the head Coach at Kent State university. Drayton is an Ohio boy and should fit into the staff very well. He will commence is new duties February 1st.
Sounds like a good hire....bring the Ohio boy back home after he's spent several years in big time programs and knows Florida well. Should be able to continue our ability to go down there and get some top quality out of state talent if needed....
Some in the Gator Nation have suggested this has been in the works for a couple of weeks at least and in that time perhaps Drayton ( UF Recruiting Coordinator ) took his foot off the gas as UF recruiting in the past two weeks has been unusually quiet to maybe negative. I guess if so you could put that on Muschamp though.
Interesting that he is our running back coach and he's going to Ohio State as a wide receivers coach. Oh well it's a year of turmoil for the Gators.
Dave & Bill, Yes, I know that this has been rumored for awhile. Muschamp undoublty wanted to retain him for his strength in recruiting. I doubt that he would have left Florida for anyone else. Tressel and his Ohio roots had to be a strong pull.
Besides...seeing leaves on the trees in Jan. and getting a suntan in Feb. gets to be pretty damned boring...............NOT!!! 8) 8) 8)
