Notre Dame looks horrible on the road in their first three road games in the Big East. So what happens? They go to Pittsburgh and beat the #2 ranked team in the country. Ben Hansbrough has become the leader of this team, and getting Carleton Scott back from an injury has been huge. This team is getting better as the season moves along.
Excellent win for the Irish, very unexpected. I was mainly hoping that we would play well and challenge the whole game. Hansborough is really in a zone right now, I hope he can keep it going.
Nice second half after trailing by 6 at the break. Hansborough looked like they'd won their NCAA Regional final. He was really pumped after the game.
Yeah I noticed that, said to one of my nephews...damn I think Hansborough thinks this was a tournament win!
At this stage of the season, it's the next best thing. The tournament committe will note that they beat the #2 team on its own floor. It should offset, at least somewhat, the 3 earlier away BE losses. That's assuming that we continue to play at the same level for the rest of the season and do well in the BE tournament.
Nice win. Now if the Pitt internet fans are like a bunch of Gator internet fans there will be about a million topics started about firing the coach, cutting his salary, team is complacent, no consistency. Don't think I will bother to check though.
Nice win for the Irish for sure and especially on the road. Pitt is very unpredictable and their poor shooting at the charity line does not help. Excellent rebounding team though. Big East is going to kill each other in the polls.
Congrats to the Irish.....TOK, your teams seem to be our best friends. First Kansas, now Pitt.....I won't mind if you run interference for us all season! Nice road win against a very tough Pitt team.....
Thanks guys, long way till the tourney though! We have a freakish long break now before our next game, we play DePaul in 9 days. Could be a good thing if some of our guys are nicked up, but in general I'd rather not have a long layoff and keep it going.
