    I'm like Tim, waiting for those faxes to come in is going to be excruciating!!

    I still remember waiting for C.J. Leake only to find out he'd sent it to Wake Forrest.

    :idea:
    I blame that meddling high school coach for the Tuitt fiasco. He didn't give a damn what was best for the boy, he just wanted to weasel his way onto Paul Johnson's GT coaching staff. I've seen other high school coaches do it exactly that way. Thank God for momma...

    George...this new crop of agents is doing a far better job than we were. I was working this stuff in Buffalo. We used sophisticated listening devices which for the most part were not admissible as evidence. This new breed is turning members. Not an easy thing to do given the mafia imposed sanctions if one was found out or sometimes just suspected. I would think the witness protection program may be in vogue but then again those who might be the main threat may be behind bars. We shall see.

    They don't make wise guys like they used to, Vic. 8) When Sammy"The Bull" turned on John Gotti it seemed to open a floodgate of guys flipping.

    Look at Henry Hill. Not only is he not in barrel at the bottom of the Atlantic, he appears on talk shows and signs cook books at Barnes and Noble. :shock:

    I read you, George. Big difference than a burned corpse wound in barb wire in a field.

    Watched Kelly's press conference. Not a lot of pearls but you could get a couple of things.

    1. He talked about his hiring process and Swarbrick telling him he wanted him to build a great defense, and followed that up with aknowledging that he couldn't win a NC playing like he did at CMU and UC, out scoring people, that he had to have a championship defense. Clearly that's been the focus of his recruiting this year. This is our best defensive class in a long time.

    2. He mentioned that Riddick might be moving back to TB. We are very thin there and Riddick has a lot of talent.

    3. He mentioned that only 4 QB's would be getting reps this spring out of the 6 on the roster. He specifically mentioned Crist, Rees and Hendrix leaving you to conclude that the 4th must be Golson. I would imagine that if Golson came to ND as an EE, and didn't get any reps in his first training camp at QB that he'd leave after 1 semester. Of course nobody should be suprised that Montana will not get reps at QB, and Massa is also out. Now Massa could move positions I guess, WR or TE maybe. But most likely he's not likely to see the field for several years other than maybe special teams. Of course he could transfer to one of the MAC schools that were after him coming out of HS.

    Not much else of note.

    Terry, I would be shocked if Golson was left out. He has all the tools to be a great QB. A little short at a shade under 6 ft. but that hasn't hindered his awsome production. I understand he grades out in the 60+ range, has led his team to a State Championship and led his Shrine team to a win.

    <t>Golson is THE man. I expect he will be in a lot of games this upcoming season. I'm not saying he will start in any of the early season games but he will be in the mix before the season is over.<br/>
    <br/>
    I don't know what to think about Crist anymore. Even when he does come back I have my doubts about whether or not he can stay healthy and he just didn't seem to grasp the offense like Rees did. Hendrix? Who knows. <br/>
    <br/>
    I picture Rees as a reliable backup to whoever becomes the starter eventually. I'm sure glad he came in early last year. Spring ball will show us a lot and that is just around the corner.<br/>
    <br/>
    It's really great to see ND get so many quality defensive recruits in one class. Can't wait till these guys get their some games under their belt and start putting the hurt on some of our opponents.</t>

    I think Crist has the better arm but Rees is a better QB. That kid does not blink.

    I'm neither a coach nor a recruiting expert, but I would guess that at the start of spring ball, based on performance on the field in real time, the job would be Rees's or Crist's to lose. Whatever happens, I can't recall the last time we had four quality QBs vying for the starting role. Actually, I'm too lazy to look it up. Anyone have an idea when something like this happened in the past?
