ND <r>Terry,<br/> <br/> Maybe it's late but you lost me on this one:<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE></r>
Rumor is that Amir wants to be an Actor if football doesn't work out. His parents want him to come to ND, education!!! But Amir wanted to make another trip to USC because Kiffin was going to introduce him to some Hollywood types who might be able to help him with his acting or something like that. You remember Kiffin hooking up Seantrel Henderson with Snoop Dogg to help his dad's Rap Career ...allegedly! So I figure besides football and education maybe South Bend has some dinner theater we can get him into...or what the hell if he's really serious about acting we can have him wait tables in the dining halls!!!
There are many opportunities in Chicago, just 90 minutes away. Isn't Chicago the home of Second City, the comedy breeding ground for many Saturday Night Live cast members? There's an idea!
ND <r>I guess we will know the whole story on Amir after signing day but I thought it was down to Stanford and ND with everyone else out of the picture then at the last minute USC pops up? We'll see I guess. <br/> <br/> Isn't Amir tight with the Atkinsons? We are doing so well in recruiting it's hard to bitch but we do need to get a stud RB in this class. I heard a rumor that they put the ace recruiter(Tony Alford) on Huggins. <br/> <br/> By the way, you can give the credit for Lynch to Alford. Lynch and his Mom really like Tony. <E></E></r>
Just thought I'd throw this in! <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/56rCkydEqPk?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/56rCkydEqPk?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Amir Carlisle to USC. I think that we are done, hopefully hang on to Tuitt and Hounshell and that kid who is a long snapper really the only other guys out there. Take either one or both if they want to come but hang on to Tuitt and I'm happy.
Interesting thing about USC, is that even with the Probation and an idiot at the helm they have out recruited Skippy and UCLA. I would have thought this would be the time that UCLA would step up...but apparently not. The one thing missing from the USC class that Petey used to always have is the elite National recruit from East Coast, the South, Texas, etc. All of their recruits are from their traditional recruiting territory.
 Skippy is failing at UCLA. Norm Chow has been fired and the Bruins are being out-recruited by lots of teams: Oregon, Washington, Arizona State etc. I think he's headed for the last roundup...
ND <t>Chase Hounshell is Irish! Little bit of a surprise on this one. The way he talked he sounded for sure like he was sticking with Florida.</t>
Ok, so now your guys are stooping so low as to steal recruits from the Gators? Such nerve! Oh well, congratulations.
Wait till Charlie gets rolling!! Yeah I hate all this flip flopping, but I predicted when we had a spate of decomits after the Navy/Tulsa losses that we'd probably get some to go our way later. Besides you guys didn't really need Hounshell did ya!
I don't know if we needed him or not Terry but I have to assume that since he was originally going to be an early entry that we thought well of him. Like I have always said in the past it's within the rules and the kids rights to change their mind right up to the point they have signed the commitment letter. I have no problem with it.
ND <r>GB,<br/> <br/> I know how you feel and I don't really like it when ND recruits go to other schools after they have given their verbal but it seems to be happening all to often now. I do think we had one slip away from ND to Florida earlier in the cycle so in this case maybe we can call it even.<br/> <br/> At any rate and I think someone has already said this but...don't count any of these kids as really yours till signing day. they'll break your heart every time. <E>:?</E></r>
 In the end, most of these maneuvers will work out for the best. I'd rather have a kid change his mind at the last minute, than have him enroll and then transfer out. The only schools losing out are places like Stanford where so many kids were going to play for Harbaugh. USC really pillaged them at the last minute, but the Trojans will need every one of them before long, so it may not matter. In the case of Burton and Hounshell, I think everybody came out a winner. Both Florida and ND got what they needed and those kids will probably be much happier in the long run... Of the kids who changed their minds and decided against going to ND this year, the only one that I really miss is Prestwood, and we probably wouldn't have gotten Hounshell if he had stayed, so even that has a silver lining. The Irish have landed a Lou Holtz type of class and I couldn't be more pleased... ..........JO'Co
I never liked a recruit bailing at the last minute. Often schools believe that they've filled a need and don't continue to recruit the same position or even worse, they've promised the turncoat that they'd not sign any others at their position. Those late switches can leave a hole in a program that can cause some serious damage. If it's done because the kid believes it's best for him, so be it, but sometimes I think I was done on purpose to damage a school and that I don't care for.
