ND vs Miami

Ok lets get the game going, I'm tired of waiting its been 20 years....And just for old time sake so we don't forget why this rivalry was so fun....

 

I am however worried that our coach has gone native and might be in Juarez at game time!

 

Maybe Juarez is warmer, after looking at this latest picture he might be smart to dodge a few bullets if he can get warm...

 

I hope Tim found all his warm clothes!

 

Field is clear, wonder if much of a crowd will show up?

 

Hell it's almost 50 in South Bend. Shoulda played there.

 

All Irish so far, 21-0 and Miami is self destructing with penalties and interceptions.

That last TD was how you run the option with a slow white QB!!

Did your QB have neck extension surgery? 27-3 at half, that field goal was big for Miami, they get the ball to start the 2nd half.

 

I hope Rees is OK, he really limped off the field but seemed a little better walking to the locker room. I would not like to see Nate Montana for the 2nd half.

 

Miami's leading reciever is.....Harrison Smith?

 

Irish kids playing well, obviously the extra month of bowl prep goes a long way....

Ralph, I just don't think your boys are meant to play on the frozen tundra....

 

Not so fast, Miami has come alive on offense and defense.

 

Well one team gets to go back to South Beach and the other gets Mishawaka. Today, and today only, I'll take Mishawaka.

 

Well Irish hang on to win 33-17. The 'Cane QB is a good young player should be better next year.

Tommy Rees as usual just does enough, not anything that makes you say Tommy will be the starter next year..but you have to like the kid. Certainly will be an interesting off season with seeing how recruiting finishes out and who emerges from the Spring at QB.

Lots of heart by your boys Ralph. The future is looking bright for both these teams down the road.

BTW, is there a worse god damned network coverage than CBS?

Watching that game I learned:

-Despite ND having a sizeable lead in the series, the highlights they show are like 5:1 Miami.
-Gary didn't fumble and ND shouldn't have won the title that year.
-They don't play defense in the Pac10.
-The SEC is a whole different level of football.
-Auburn is playing with more pressure than Oregon

WTF did any of that have to do with what was going on in El Paso?

 

Next year it would be better if someone else was able to beat out Rees at QB. First it would mean we have a damn good QB. Second, when our QB goes down, we have a hell of a backup.
