Wow! Kuntz was one of my favorites, because he rated so low coming out of HS, but he worked his way into being a very good player. He was ferocious!

Good article on Chris Stewart. I don't think Chris will make it in the NFL, probably won't even be drafted but he's going to be successful in life of that I have no doubt.

    Chris Stewart

I suspect that what appears on my screen composed of several lines may be a link. Is my computer at fault??

can we just worry about beating Tulsa and not getting out asses kicked up and down by Navy or Stanford? Oh, or how about Miami? Can we worry about them now? ;)

I think Miami-ND and Florida-Penn St are match-ups that bring some marquis attractiveness in name at least.

    Canes vs. Irish.......Paterno vs. Meyers.

It all sounds good in spite of the bountiful mediocrity all four have experienced this season.

You analyze things until they are lifeless. When was the last time you just enjoyed a game?

yes, because it wouldn't be an ND thread without mention that Florida (even in it's alleged down years) is on par with Notre Dame and Miami..

Even though there's no real history between the coaches (they all camp and do Nike tours together, that's no real bond. If that **** were true, Tubberville would be the most liked guy in college football).. The programs have no real history in terms of playing each other... But yes, yes... it is just the same because Coach TapOut is matching wits with the Zombie Coach..

Nevermind that there is a real history between Notre Dame and Miami... nevermind that this series has produced two landmark games in which the major shifts in power in college football was on stage for all to see... Nevermind that despite Ralph being one helluva nice guy.. the fan bases of these two teams genuinely have a dislike for each other..

I know the SEC, and specifically the Gators, are the biggest name to ever visit any city when they come calling but I just don't seem to recall many stories about Cane fans flinging bags of urine and bottles at Gator fans.

Most people hate the Irish and we're just fine with that.. even when we're down, most aren't worthy of respect in the big picture let alone contempt...but Miami is different.

Walk into any sports related venue and just say 'Catholics vs Convicts' and they know just what you're talking about. As much as the media tried to hype ND-FSU into that type of matchup it just wasn't...

They were the weak sister who rose from the ashes to dethrone the king, only to have the king take it right back.. then the two dropped haymakers on each other (literally) until the Priests felt they had to step in and end the series... Seriously, think about that..

Hell, even the Bama fans at work who HATE BOTH TEAMS can't stop talking about "even though they're both shitty, I can't wait to see ND and Miami go at it."

If the Irish come out flat against the Canes, I don't just want to fire Kelly.. I wanna fire that mother****er before he hits the tunnel.

I am a major doubter as to Kelly 'getting it' and an even greater doubter of diaco (and that's not a typo, I've only seen a little d out there this year). This is one of those games that interim, new guy or old veteren... you better find the connection between the fan base and the team because it's tangible and I assure you, I am far from the only ND fan who takes this game this seriously... and I know Miami fans feel just that way about ND. My phone and email have been blowing up since the game was announced (Really, Ralph is the only Cane I know who doesn't suck and I know a lot).

But I'm sure Florida-Penn State is right there with it... silly me

It's been 20 years since the Catholics v Convicts tagline had any teeth to it. There are lots of protestants playing for ND and no convicts that I'm aware of playing for Miami.

Tim looks like it will be a tad chilly for the game! Hopefully sunny though!

    Go Irish!

    Certainly not my intent.

Maybe I am saying that Penn St is on a par with ND when it comes to name recognition??

Florida....Miami........who cares....is that what you are saying??

Seriously.....I was just pointing out the bowl match-ups that might have a little "ring" to em just because of names if not the quality of the teams involved.

Even though these games below involve teams having much better seasons there is no "ring" to the match-ups:

Oregon and Auburn look to be great teams.....but a game with a "ring" to it???......Oregon vs. Auburn doesn't do much.

Alabama vs. MSU???? yes for Bama......not so much for MSU...

Ohio State vs. Arkansas?? yes for the Buckeyes.....not so much for Arkansas.

Hey.....I am just looking for reasons to think anyone will watch Florida-Penn St as I am sure ABC is also...
