Irish take a QB in this class after all! Looks like a good fit for the offense. Oh yes, I guess ND under Kelly isn't above taking kids who have already committed to other schools since they have no problem doing it to ND. http://www.carolinalive.com/sports/story.aspx?id=549091 Go Irish!
ND <r>By the way, Golson will enroll early which will set up a nice QB competition come spring ball time. <E>8)</E></r>
All's fair in love and war, we learned the hard way when after the 2006 season Charlie had a bunch of "silent" commits bail on him along with a few regular verbals. Before that he had tried to take the high moral ground and not recruit another teams verbals and if contacted about being recruited he wouldn't allow them to take an offical visit to ND unless they informed the coach of the team they verbaled. This was what happened in Brian Smiths recruitment, he was verbaled to Iowa, when we had a staff change he was back in play and Charlie wouldn't let him visit till he told Ferentz, when he did Ferentz pulled his scholarship and told him not to bother calling him again!
ND <t>Terry,<br/> <br/> Yep, I remember Brian Smith's case. It's a shame all schools don't agree to not go after players after they have given a verbal but it's not gonna happen and ND has to wake up(like it is now) and play the game the way the other schools are or get left out in the cold as far as recruiting is concerned. Like you said, all's fair in love and war and in this case, recruiting in D1 football.<br/> <br/> <br/> Look for Mizzu to lose 1 or 2 kids to ND also. <br/> <br/> P.S. I not naive enough to think that ND won't lose another kid to some other program either. <br/> <br/> Go Irish!</t>
Yeah I worry about Counsel, he's supposedly wavering. But the kid from Kansas, Shane Ray, is a Missouri commit and coached by former Irish OL Tim Grunhardt looks like he might make the jump. And maybe that other kid from Texas who is a Wisconsin Verbal will also make the switch, but for some reason I think he is less likely given how Wisconsin has done this year.
Councell <r>Looks like ND did O.K. with Councell this weekend:<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> He seemed to be worried about whether or not he could make it academically. Looks like other schools are using this as one of their negative recruiting practices this year.</r>
