Holy tamoly what a game! If you liked Auburn-Alabama, you hadn't seen nuttin yet! Nevada comes all the way back on TWO missed chip-shot field goals by the Broncos! This probably forces THREE very good western teams into lower tier bowl games: Boise, Stanford and Nevada! Wow!
I am going to copy and paste my post from a very similar topic that was posted with the same time stamp as this one and lock that topic. I fell asleep and obviously so did Boise. I woke up to see the hail Mary with 2 seconds left to set up the winning chip shot for Boise. Wide right... going to over time. Boise sets themselves up for a even closer chip shot... wide left. Nevada then kicks it right down main street at a farther distance than either of the two missed Boise attempts to win the game.
It's funny how with all the "punditry" we are subjected to all season long by the experts it still comes down to actually playing the games.
Like Mark May saying just now that Auburn will beat SC and Spurrier just because they already beat them. Well.....SC had a 20-7 lead and only lost 35-27....at Auburn. This game is in Atlanta and will be Spurrier's second go round with the Tigers.....and I like his chances.
I can't believe it, went to bed with Boise looking like they would win handily. I don't think it's possible for TCU to $hit the bed vs New Mexico so they will likely now end up in the Rose Bowl. Unless either Auburn or Oregon lose next weekend.
I stayed up to watch it, but for some reason the Skybox wouldn't come up for me. What a way to lose! Nevada all but handed BSU the game on a silver platter by not having a safety playing center field for the hail mary. Then the BSU kicker chokes. I knew he'd miss that second one. You could tell he was still thinking about the first one.
Unbelievable. Well now it's TCU that all the folks who think the big teams get all the advantages can hang their hat on. I love to watch Boise but like Terry went to bed because it was after midnight here. That makes me two for two yesterday. We were visiting our son and had to leave for home with the Bama Auburn score 24 - 14. I thought Bama had that one well in control also. I called my daughter on the way home to check the score and she told me Auburn was leading, then called me back when the game was over. Wow is all I can say.
 Stanford cannot go to the Rose Bowl, because the Rose Bowl was stupid enough to sign an agreement that guarantees they will pick the Big Ten winner (Wisconsin) vs. a non-BCS qualifier (TCU) if the 12Pac winner (Oregon) goes to the NC game. Because Stanford will probably be ranked 4th at the end, they will go to a different BCS bowl, which is really dumb: a Stanford-Wisconsin Rose Bowl would have been a duesy for fans of power football.
One thing is for sure now: a lot of the teams going to lower tier bowl games may run into a buzz saw this year. Among the teams now knocked to lower bowls are: LSU, Boise State, Michigan State, Nevada, Florida, Okie State and several others...
:? Yes, great games...unless my Irish are one of the unfortunate teams who run into one of those buzz saws...
