Bode Miller Plays Pro Baseball :D

Downhill skier Bode Miller, who won two silver medals at the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002 but was shut out in a disappointing showing in this year's Torino Games, has signed a one-game contract to play for the Nashua (N.H.) Pride of the independent CanAm League.

Miller, a native of Franconia, N.H., will play July 29 for the Pride in a home game against the Brockton (Mass.) Rox. The team did not say what position Miller will play.

"I have just started my foundation over the last several months, and to be able to play professional baseball and have my foundation in some small way help the Lance Armstrong Foundation in its fight against cancer, it's going to be an awesome day," Miller said in a statement released by the Pride.

The team said it will donate at least $5,000 from ticket sales for the July 29 game to Miller's Turtle Ridge Foundation, which will give the money to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
