Forget the game. Any of you Gator fans concerned about Meyer's appearance?

He looks like he has one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel. He could be the poster boy for PTSD. I was shocked at his persona in that game last night. He may need to step away for a period of time because it looks like the pressure is getting to him.

I know the Florida folks don't even like to hear the question, but I have thought the same thing for a while. :(

I was at the game and couldn't see his face from my perspective but I can tell you he was sick to death of seeing what he was seeing out of the worst offensive production I have seen at the Swamp.

Georgia must have an absolutely pathetic defense to allow this offense 34 points and 450 total yards.

If Meyer doesn't make a change in offensive coordinators after this debacle the noise level will be deafening in the Gator Nation.

The UF defense chimed in as well by not getting that crucial 1st series of the second half stop vs. a determined SC offense.......determind to run future Heisman winner Marcus Lattimore right down it's throat.

Then there is The OL Ball Coach.......what a night for Spurrier.

Not one true Gator fan feels anything other than good things for Spurrier finally getting to achieve what he set out to do in Columbia and he will have many fans wearing Orange and Blue watching the game on Dec. 3rd in Atlanta.

I was at the game so didn't see what you are talking about.

Actually the times I have seen him on tv or a picture of him recently I thought he he looked pretty good. Gained weight etc.

So I can't comment on his appearance.

    The game was a disaster.

I get the impression that Meyer is under some pretty strong medication. He just doesn't seem as focused as he was before his "attack" last year.

He did not look the same to me. I have seen it speculated that he only agreed to come back this year and coach as a cover for the Gators doing a coach search. I actually doubt that is true, but it certainly would explain this year.

I doubt Meyer has any preordained deals but nothing would surprise me from here on out though.

It does appear at times like last Sat. that he has delegated way too much of the offensive playcalling to Addazio and the combo of Meyer/Addazio was a miserable failure.

    I cannot see this continuing.

Either Meyer gets a spread OC with some talent.....like Michigan's McGhee seems to be.....so that he can continue to delegate more effectively or Meyer himself will either rededicate himself to the process or he will step down.

There was no excuse for that ugly offense vs. the SEC's 9th ranked defense.....which by the way is not Spurrier's personal forte.

He was pretty stressed on Sat. and should be...he has stepped back from previous years and delagated more. Due to heath this is understandable....but part of the problem is loyalty, our OC Addazio is lost, inept etc. This didn't start this year, our offense was sad last year as well, just had Tebow to bail us out.
Urban needs to decide 1)Do i want to coach 2) Can i demote my buddy Addazio back to o-line coach and get a proven OC 3)Decide what kind of offense your gonna run and put the proper players in to run it

Last year was year one without Mullen.....and it showed and it was one reason we were not as sharp on offense as needed vs. Bama in Atlanta.

It was a season long issue last year and many Gator fans questioned why we sometimes looked so stagnant on offense even while winning.

This year we found out why the hard way that our offensive coaching is abysmal when Meyer is not as involved as he needs to be and the offense is simultaneously without a good OC to steer the ship.

    Meyer's take:

    http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20101115/ARTICLES/101119623/1136?p=1&tc=pg

He is right in that Burtaon was stopped once early on and then the coaches junked his entire playbook. The kid is a winner and was badly needed Sat. night yet they all had a brainfart about staying the course with him.

Heck...it was Burton's 51 yard TD scamper that gave UF a critical late lead vs. Georgia.

Right now I am just plain appalled.

This sounds like Mack Brown defending Greg Davis.

Also I note that you have Rivals #1 rated "Pro Style" QB comming in 2011. It seems to me that you should have the #1 rated "Dual" QB commit for the Meyer style of offense. Brantley has been a round peg in a square hole it seems to me. Of course I have read that Driskell may have to make a decision between baseball and football in the Spring as he is a candidate to be drafted pretty high by MLB.

This a quote about Addazio.....and amazingly enough Meyer plans to keep him as OC.

    Woe.......is me.....

Terry, go read more about the QB who is supposes to come to the Gators again. Driskell is his name and he is a running QB. What I read about him is that he is a good enough passer that he could be ranked as the top passing QB, but he also runs and runs well.

There is speculation that he and his family want him to run less in college, but either way he's a good fit for the offense.

He is a good fit.....for the offense UF used to run under Mullen.

Last year's offense even with Tebow had very mundane performances vs. good defenses like Tenn, LSU and Alabama.

How long does it take... if ever for Driskell to play to Tebow's level?

PPG for UF: Three lowest scores:

    2005 - 26.38 3, 14, 17
    2006 - 29.71 21,17,17
    2007 - 42.46 17,24,30
    2008 - 43.64 26,30,24
    2009 - 35.85 13,13,23
    2010 - 29.53 6, 7, 14

The last two years resemble the first two years with the exception that 2006 had a stable full of future NFLers on defense. ( thank you RZ ).

This year is as offensively anemic as the first year and the record and results look a lot like that year.

    We have regressed.

He might be a good runner, I was going off of the fact that he was listed under "Pro Style" as opposed to "Dual Threat". He is the highest rated QB on the Rivals top 100, so he's not chopped liver.

I am assuming that Meyer feels that he is a fit for his version of the Spread. Maybe he doesn't want a QB to run like Tebow or Cam Newton or Alex Smith in the future. Mack Brown has found that it's not as easy as you might think to take a great throwing QB like Garrett Gilbert was in HS who was also very athletic (really he and Driskel sound like the same QB). and convert him into another style of offense.

Might be a moot point if he choses to go MLB, same issue for Neb with Bubba Starling.
