Actually, what Chesty really said when informed that he was completely surroiunded by 3 Chinese Divisions and had his back to the Chosin resivor was...

"Poor Bastards, now they have us exactly where we want them....we can shoot in any direction and still hit the enemy"

I would have hoped that GORT would chime in on this topic.

Since I no longer have a uniform to suit up in and it is not the right thing to do to salute, I tip my hat to ya Marine!

AJ, thank you for your service. God Bless all of our veterans.

I am in Washington DC tonight with the Ohio Sons of Amvets. Tomorrow we will be in Arlington for the Veteran's ceremony. After that we will go place wreaths at the WWII, Korean, and Viet Nam memorials. We have WWII and Viet Nam veterans with us.

My Dad is 87 and a WWII vet and has never seen the WWII memorial. He is here with us and will be placing the WWII wreath along with 4 other WWII vets.

It will be a very emotional day.

I didn't write the rules folks, I just like 'em.

Thanks to all that READ this post, and felt a American surge of pride to reply.

Happy BD AJ and Veterans day to all. Stu, I was in Washington last weekend. The monument to WWII was fantastic. Thought of my late father, a gunner on the B25 in WWII ( No Africa and Sicily ) He would have loved to have seen it. Enjoy the day with your dad.

I've been to that memorial... and it's quite a sight.
I had no idea it was that big.

Thanks AJ, and all your "brothers" as well.

So Gunner, it's probably safe to say you are the Senior Marine present, who is the Junior to help you cut the cake?
