 well you know how Joco was asking about the Jacksonville area well Saturday our Grandaughter Megan got her letter of intent for the university of No Florida for Volleyball...... looks like we will be traveling to Jacksonville on a few occasions ... we have been going to her games and now CIF starts tomorrow. and yes grandpa and grams will be there to cheer her on. we are ranked 2nd our division and 270 nationally some our Seniors have accepted letters from West Point . Sacred Heart in Ct Berkley and a few Cal St schools She leaves for school 6-22 she has a count down going already ... I would post pix;s but I dont know how I'll have to send them to Tim or have Corey do it Just had to share.... oh and for a few Fl fans our grandson Brendan has been training w. Chris Rix (nice guy)
Congratulations! If you want to see the state on your visits and you head south you can camp out at our place in Hobe Sound. It's empty a lot and I only have one rule: Don't drink my last beer!
Congrats! I have a niece who is a North Fla graduate and married a fellow No. Fla graduate..both are doing very well and enjoyed their college years.
thanks Terry my daughter and Megan went on the offical tour last month my daughter said all the sports team stay in one dorm the Volleyball has the 6th floor to themselves ea side has 6 bedrooms kitchen. sports room tv room .. only the freshman have to share a room (there are 4 2 to a room) she said it looks like the Hilton w. the fountains and 2 different pools . training room etc... I cant wait to see the campus.... Megan is very excited. I posted some pictures of her on facebook in the last week or so. dont know how to do it here maybe joco does. we are very proud of her... she is an excelllent student as well... she has a double major... physcial therapy and business ... but I will miss her alot
Di, Chris Rix is a Florida State guy, so the Florida fans here won't care, but I do. My nephew and niece are FSU alums, so I cheer for FSU. It's a family thing. I think I mentioned a few months ago that I saw a neighbor with a No. Florida decal on his car window. His granddaughter goes there. And Terry has a niece who went there. Small world.
Gee Sid you're on the wrong side of a lot of rivalries!! If I remember correctly you've got relatives on the A&M side of the Tex/A&M rivalry as well!
I am born and raised in Jacksonville and this past weekend I visited Jax for my Dad's 75th B-day party. He lives 10 minutes from Jax beach and 10 minutes from UNF and I have to say that area of town is the best side of Jax these days. It is actually very nice and no doubt if I had to live there it would be the side of town that I would choose. Congrats and good luck to her.
Good memory, Terry. They are former relatives but great people. I still have a liking for the Aggies because of them.
