Most GOP candiadates believe in the same strange mix of cuttting state jobs/adding jobs/cutting taxes.

I have never seen a rational explanation as to how they just might get that accomplished.

The same also applies to the mantra of cutting taxes for business owners who will......in the face of low public demand for their products or services.....take that tax windfall and add decent paying jobs they really don't feel they have the need for.

Of course.....minimum wage job wages are considered enough money to buy homes and cars by some people stuck in the 50s.

Damn....a car today costs as much as a house did in the 50s.

....and what do you think they will do with it?

And on the flip side, if they do face a tax increase - which is what the administration has favored, at least prior to their "shellacking" - do you think small businesses will hire more or less workers? Increase or decrease their spending on goods and services?

The one thing I am most certain about is that they would never add jobs.......just because they are nice guys who "feel" like it to help a brotha out.

If the demand is not there for what they sell.....it ain't happenin.

That is not the question.....the question is:

What do you think they will do with it? Simple, honest question.....what do you think they will do with it?

"What do you think they will do with it? Simple, honest question.....what do you think they will do with it?"

I dunno.....buy antique automobiles and collect them like Detroit Tigers and Dominoes Pizza magnate Tom Monahan used to do?

Buy a bigger yacht made by an Italian manufacturer to go along with their foreign made luxury automobile?

Maybe buy another beach house in the Caribbean?

Add to their wife's ( and possibly hooker girlfriend's ) fur collection?

Give their 28 year old... 10 year lifetime student another year of tuition at Yale?

    :)

Bingo, I think you've got it.....they would increase consumption!

If hundreds of thousands of small businessmen increase their present consumption by just a little bit, tens of millions of dollars will stay in the private sector and not get sent to Washington and, due to the multiplier effects, aggregate demand would increase by billions.....that is how jobs are created my friend by stimulating private sector demand.....not government handouts.

Now, you tell me what would happen if Obama chooses to increase the tax burden on these small businessmen.....I'll give you a clue. It doesn't take a rocket scientist nor Nobel Laureate to figure it out....

Uh....BT....I don't think you caught the "foreign" influence of that consumption.

These people really couldn't give two sh*ts if they buy anything that helps our economy.

Seriously? Do you have any idea how foolish that is? C'mon man, that's just ridiculous.....why would they want to help our economy? It's not like they have to operate in it or benefit by its growth or anything, right? Oh, perhaps they do.....

These people ? These people? These people are your next door neighbors, they are the little league coaches, the scout leaders, the high school boosters......These people have formed the foundation of our system for generations....the entrepreneurs, the innovators, geezus man, get a grip.

Krebsie, my boy says that small business owners don't give two sh!ts about anything that helps our economy and would not buy anything domestic that might increase domestic consumption , instead stashing everything offshore? What say you? TOK, you too....Gip, BobDa if your firms are partnerships, that would apply to you guys as well.....do you guys also act contrary to your best interests and not give two sh!ts about our domestic economy.....good lord.

In the last days of my "seige" in Detroit....before the bankruptcies all I heard about here was how Detroit deserved it.....made a poor product compared to foreign cars.....etc etc.

The wealthiest Americans I am sure feel the same way as you.

They couldn't care if it was American made or not.

Also......with regard to consumption.......even if they did purchase a product that helped American business their numbers are few......top 2% or something like that vs. the other 98%.

I say if we help out the 98% that is one hell of a lot more purchased products such as cars, refrigerators and roofs than can possibly be bought by that 2% that might just snub it's nose at the significance of American made anyway.

It's hopeless.....absolutely and totally hopeless. You just don't get it. You make no effort to get it and it appears unlikely that you ever will.....it seems as if you enjoy your misery. Carry on....

Easy enough to understand BT that someone with more cash on hand might spend it.

I am just pointing out that no decent paying jobs would be in the offing just for the hell of it and posted at the whim of a business owner with kept tax money.

I also point out that items purchased by the wealthy sometimes are eclectic or foreign made, collectors type items that are not necessarily going to boost the American economy and also the math is pretty easy when it comes to more mundane everyday items like two refrigerators being purchased by that top 2% purchased vs. ninety-eight.

What I am saying is that the reason the economy has been in the toilet is because the middle class and below have been stripped of their financial well being and made jobless or underemployed in many cases.

A few rich guys buying new a Mercedes is not the cure.

Dave has his own stereotypical view of the world where he plays the victim and everyone else plays the role that best fits or explains his situation. He is impossible to reason with. I know. I've tried.

Dave, your picture should be Jesus nailed to the cross with your head on his body. Instead of INRI on the top it should read "It's your fault ".

    George.....that irks me a little

You act as if I haven't lived what I have lived.

It's why sometimes there are politicians and radio/media types who act like they don't think there is a real world out there.

    It's real brotha.

Yes, its real . And we are all living it to various extents. But you act like you're the only one affected by this terrible economy. You paint the rest of us as greedy capitalists, unfeeling about anyone but ourselves.

Many here could be exactly where you are with a few bad breaks yet we forge ahead, preferring to make our own breaks while your solution is to tax the rich and redistribute income to give you what you feel you deserve. You don't deserve ****; you deserve an opportunity just like the rest of us.

If I hurt your feelings that TFB; I've hurt a few people's feelings in the last three years and that's what keeps me staring at the ceiling at 2A.

You're going to have to find someone else's shoulder to cry on.

Hey....all I have been asking is that assholes like the Tea Party don't try to take away SS for which I have paid into much more so than the average American over the years.

Everything else for retiring Americans has been FUBAR to the point of there is no retirement and now these elitist cretins want the social security too?

    F**K that!

If an elistist cretin is defined as one who does not believe it a good idea to continue to borrow money from the Chinese in order to fund ill-conceived entitlement programs at unsustainable levels and pass the buck/give the bill to our children and theirs then I count myself proudly amongst their ranks.....carry on comrade.
