Cam Newton is a freak....a helluva football player who broke Tim Tebow's SEC single season rushing record for a Qb.

But I don't like his character from what I have seen in interviews.

He seems like a punk....not gracious....and like someone who would indeed buy a stolen lap top and think nothing of it.

Yesterday he was high fiveing the Auburn crowd after the game and standing up on the endzone rail leading the cheers of the crowd.....all reminiscent of TT.....

.....but he's no Tebow......and I see why Meyer didn't do back flips to keep him in the program.

I expect trouble with this kid to rear it's head once he makes the riches of the NFL.

    MCG,
I think the Auburn fans might not agree with you.

Seriously? No other victorious exuberant football player ever celebrated with his fans before Tebow? His influence on the game was much greater than anybody ever imagined.....

Did he invent the Lambeau Leap also or just instrumental in its design?

Do you play Auburn this year? Maybe reserve judgement until that on is in the books?

Of course he's no Tim Tebow, he's black, he plays for Auburn, he's taller and faster...duh.

He bought a stolen laptop...wrote his name on it....and then threw it out the window when the cops came. Stupid mistake..... He left the program at UF and went to a junior college for 1 year and now he is at Auburn. He is the starting QB...... seems to have learned from his mistakes and is doing well. Why hate on this kid who is enjoying an undefeated season and wants to enjoy it with the fans of his team? Nothing he did resembled any kind of THUG behavior.
Cam and Tim are two different players on and off the field. I've said since I first saw Cam play that he was a freak and would do a great job of running our offense after Tim left. That didn't work out. Even cam stated that he misses FL and friendships that were made there. He has now moved on....maybe you should, too. Good luck, Cam.

Peyton Manning used to conduct the Tennessee band in Rocky Top after some games...

I couldn't disagree more with MCG about Cam Newton. From everything I've seen he's been very gracious and even said he appreciated the comparisons to Tebow.

I hope he wins the Heisman.

As far as the Gators playing Auburn, I think they come back on our schedule next season. I believe we will play there. I'm going by memory.

    Only time will tell.

We'll check in later on Newton after he gets to the NFL.

Never one to admit you might be wrong huh MCG?

Seems you might have better things to be concerned about than Cam Newton.

Newton may turn out to be a fine individual......yes I could be wrong about that.

But I stand by my post.......he's no Tim Tebow.

Whether he's another Tebow or not is immaterial. So far he is a Newton and I don't hear Auburn complaining.
