Wouldn't have bet a dime on that, even given some generous odds. Of course it's not over and Phils and Yanks could comeback and win...but I'm thinking it's not very likely.
I watched the Phils-Giants last night. Normally, I don't bash coaching, but the Phils lost a chance to score more than 4 runs in the top of the 5th when the 3rd base coach sent the catcher home from 2b only to be tagged out. Granted, it was a close play and and a great catch & tag by the rookie phenom Buster Posey, but there was only one out with Chase Utley up next. Plus, Victorino did not go to 2b on the throw to the plate. Utley got a hit, which would have scored two runs, giving the Phils at least 5 runs in the inning, maybe more. I'm the first one to say that hindsight creates great coaches, but that was a mistake that ultimately may deprive the Phils of going to the World Series. How about Buster Posey? He was interviewed after the game. He sounded like a 12 year veteran as he answered the reporter's questions.
The kid is amazing, I didn't know much about him but when I looked him up I saw that he was a Freshman AA at SS for Fla.State and didn't move to Catcher till he was a soph in college.
