I am starting to get the unpleasant feeling that Georgia and especially FSU are two teams that are getting excited about the opportunity to finally lay one on the Gators this year.

I suspect UF will put up a good fight vs. Ga. but if FSU keeps showing improvement their fans will be at a frenzy in late November and it could be a shocker for UF because the Gators start so slow on offense and dig such a hole for themselves.

Losing big to FSU would be an inglorious end to this season that is becoming more forgettable by the week.

meh...transition year for the Gators. You are feeling the effects of not having Tim Tebow. You have recruited the best hs talent in the country for the last 4 or 5 years, you are loaded with 4* and 5* players everywhere. But you lost your OCoord, Dan Mullen, 2 years ago but with Tim Tebow it wasn't noticed.

Now with Brantley who IMHO does not fit the system that Meyer wants to run you are struggling. Brantley was a 5* QB, but he's not really a running threat like Alex Smith was at Utah or Tim Tebow was for you the last 4 years. I don't think Meyer will ever be comfortable with a under the center/dropback QB system or a wide open throw it all the time Shotgun/spread.

But let me qualify that struggling to 9-3 isn't really stuggling all that much, and if Meyer had Cam Newton instead of Brantley you wouldn't be struggling at all.

Your defense has so much talent it's embarassing, my only question which I have asked before, is about the fact that your 2 deep has so many freshmen or RS Freshmen...ie inexperience. But neither you or Bill have seen that as any sort of issue.

Just be glad you don't have to face that hord coming out of the cornfields this weekend! :)

Nebraska will be tough indeed for Texas......very tough.

The Gators' defense has great potential to be sure but the failure to stop LSU at the end of the game last Sat. is a poor way to show it.

BT, Doyel is a big time ass and I haven't given a !$#$ what he has to say for a long time.

Terry, I think our new DC will do just fine. Right now as you say we are in transition.

MCG, why are you worried about Georgia and FSU when the best team we have on the rest of our schedule is S. Carolina?

Bill......no Gator fan wants us lose any game but there are no deep seated rivalry issues with SouCar and they are a good team this year that will be very hard to beat.

FSU and Georgia however have rabid fan bases that would want to see a win over Florida more than anything.

In Gainesville last Sat. there was a clown driving through the streets with FSU flags hanging on the windows.

I think FSU fans can almost taste this one.

I hear ya Bill, but this isn't just some internet crackpot fan of a rival taking cheap shots at a competitor.....this is an alum that is deeply disturbed at the leadership at his alma mater and how it reflects on his school. No doubt there are others with a similar view and an additional burden for Mayer and his program to bear.....can't be helpful.

His name is Meyer not Mayer, just a typo I'm sure but for future reference.

If the burden is to much for Meyer to bear then he will leave. If not he will continue and jerks like Doyel will continue to hate him, mostly because Meyer just ignores them.

I think that in light of what happened with Urban last year and his health us Gators will have some apprehension. However one thing we are sure of is that he will do what he thinks is right and not what some writer with either an agenda or lack of knowledge or both has to say.

But thanks for your concern for our coach.

For future reference, I have no concerns for your coach whatsoever. It is your fellow alum that has expressed his concerns and reservations about your and his coach for which you branded him an ass/jerk, with an agenda or without knowledge or insights.....I'll let you guys fight it out.

I simply suggested that that can't make things any easier for the coach and I stand by that statement and stipulate that I don't have any knowledge or insights into the situation other than common sense.....
