I haven't been able to find any explanation or even discussion of Notre Dame's blown coverages on the internet, which resulted in two Michigan TDs. The first saw the Wolverines with a trips-left formation, covered by three D-backs, but nobody covered the slot on the play and he was all alone for an easy TD pass. The second play was even worse, with the same trips-left formation, only this time the Irish covered the three WRs with only two Dbacks and predictable results. Somebody didn't know or forgot their assignment. Who?
I'd like to know as well. Maybe somebody tied their shoelaces together on those plays!!
Just an additional comment on the safety play last Sat. Neither Slaughter nor McCarthy was physically able to go Sat. The only other safety that we had on our roster was a freshman Derek Roback who decided last Mon. to transfer. Motta and Harrison Smith played every snap on defense. We were unable to use our nickle package because it includes an extra safety.
What happened to McCarthy? Also I didn't catch it at the game, but apparently T.J. Jones blew his touchdown by hot dogging it to the endzone and dropping the ball on the 1yd line...offical didn't catch it and it wasn't reviewed. Hope he got "yelled" at by the coaching staff.
