Well I could not let this prospective tinderbox escape comment. I have to admit that I have mixed reactions on how I feel about the actions of the preacher from Gainesville and his plans to burn a few hundred Korans on 9/11.

After watching our flags, epitaphs and any other items foreign extremist can get their hands on and burn for the cameras over the years the redneck DNA in me cry's out and says its about time they get a taste of their own medicine. Add the fact that the White house and every other dept associated with government has spoken up to denounce it. Hillary has mentioned that important people from the Vatican to Ringo Starr has spoken against this and in her words "People of opinion".

The higher brain function says this can come to no good and will cause pain and injury and reprisal and may be the spark that erupts the islamic world.

I do wonder why we do not hear the White house or Hillary for that matter speak out when Christians, Hindus or any other religion is attacked. We do tend to walk on egg shells when it comes to the muslim world...

I don't know Ralph. I'm torn on this one. Our 1st amendment gives us the right to do just that. Or men and women in the service of our country fight for that right every day. However, I know how I feel when things like this are done against America and my chosen religion. I really don't take pleasure in it happening to anyone else.

With that said, I would not protest against this happening. I just wouldn't join in on the activities. However, let one of those Islamic a$$holes burn a flag in my presence and I will be spending jail time.

It's a very bad idea. No law against it, sure, but still a very bad idea.

We are all torn on this.

If it means heathens will act up and maim and kill with more vengeance then I guess it is a bad idea.

But I'll bet most of us would like to just say.....burn the bitches!

:( I wish people (government) felt this strongly about how people treat our flag as far as I am concerned its just as important as their symbol,as for out flag we dont defend it we allow it to be burned stamped on and other things... its just not right...

The difference is we all may get Po'd over a flag burning but we don't go out and suicide bomb the next mosque we come across.

The sickies in the Muslim religion are licking their chops over the opportunity to do something really evil and cowardly if these burnings take place.

That's how they roll.........thankfully we don't roll that way.

I am right there with ya!!! There seems to be a bit too much protest from the so called "People of Opinion" in government...I wish they put in half the effort as the world tramples on our virtues...

I believe that you should be free to burn the flag, the bible, the Koran, the Sunday comics or whatever the hell you want. I'd fight the man who tries to stop you. You're free to do it, but good luck with the wrath you bring upon yourself.

At the same time, I'd help that same guy kick your ass for doing it.

I'm all about freedom. It's scary. It has consequences and rewards. Embrace it.

I don't like protections. Their only consequence is the loss of your freedom and that's just too much for me.
