Stu, G-man, lookinig forward to seeing you there....

Bad news on the Buckeye front....starting DE Nathan Williams who was injured in practice the week before the opener is still nowhere near full go....he is likely to see action but is not likely to see as much action as I had hoped.....not good news for Buckeye fans.

The thought of Jacory sitting back in the pocket waiting patiently for his receivers to come open is not a pleasant thought... :(

This factoid should make you feel better:

Miami has not won an away game against a #1 or #2 team since 1991......

While both teams look great offensively and capable of scoring a lot of points, I think this game may turn out to be a defensive struggle.

I am looking for a very close game. I still like our chances here in the Shoe.

BT looking forward to seeing you again my friend!
Don I also like our chances at The Shoe (but then I always do)
Doc Tooth do you remember that strip club in front of the Super 8....you know the one that Stu and I had such a hard time getting you to leave.....anyhow I guess here of late they have had a couple full-blown shoot-outs in their parking lot.....must of been murder on the Waffle Houses' biz.....anyhow Josh and I are camping out a few streets north of there at a Crown Plaza that's only costing 2 fins more then what the S8 charged.

Hey Stu Josh(my grandson) as well as my nephew ,well Josh will but my nephew may be with us on game day.

Yikes!!.....you guys need to be more discerning.

Haven't had the dough to check out Tampa much but the Detroit area has some of the very best in the nation for that sort of thing.

Glad I had clients and business associates so willing to form business alliances in such establishments.... :D

I'm just glad its an early season game because us folks from the sun, sand and palm trees don't do well in snow flurries when it comes to tossing a frozen pigskin around... 8)

Honestly this game will define if our defense is on par with a top ten program. We finally have the depth we have lacked since Shannon has been coach and have game experience. Wisconsin ran over us like we were flat bread in our bowl game loss and supposedly they have taken that lesson to heart...

Ralph, as good as Jacory is and with the skill people he has surroundinig him all capbable of making plays, if we can't get in his face consistently or at least make him think about it, it's going to be a long night for the Buckeye defenders.....it appears we're going to be a bit shorthanded on the D-line and my fear is that we will be forced to bring blitzers to create pressure putting a lot more stress on the secondary and greater potential for big plays.....

Offensively, the best case scenario is for TP to just turn around and hand the ball off to our running backs all game long, letting Jacory have extended rest periods on the sidelines 8) ....we don't have a John Clay ala Wisky, but I think our O-line is a good one, big and physical and we've got 3 or 4 kids that can tote it forcing the Canes to stack the box and giving TP opportunities to go over the top.....

Not sure what to expect, but I think I 'd rather not see a shoot-out, not our style.....

This is exactly what worries us Cane fans. As I mentioned earlier Wisconsin abused us at the line in the bowl game and your O-line is supposed to be stronger than that unit. As with all games it will be won or lost in the trenches. We have the talent to get it done but will we underperform or stand up to the challenge. I hope to make it through the first quarter and still be a tight game. The adrenalin of the large crowd and big game atmosphere should be toned down by that time for the kids to remember what has been drilled into their heads.

Our Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/QBs is a pretty exciting guy to watch and I am curious what he has schemed for this game. He was the Off coord when the Phil Eagles made it to the championship game and won a championship at UMass as head coach. It should be interesting...

Would it be too much to ask for the game to be exactly like the one we played in for the championship game??? It would sure make for some great football...

That is of course leaving out yellow flags that get stuck in pockets and come out 30 seconds later...

Terry we plan on leaving the little pads on for this game. This way as we run by the Buckeyes on the way to our many touchdowns it does not tire us out as much... :D

Big boy pads are mandatory for this game as well as fully cinched up chin straps to keep the nugget intact as there be some hittin' goin' on in this one......C-bus is in a frenzy the likes of which you only get for a big intersectional match-up between traditional powers that you don't get to see regularly, ala Texas, SC, most recently. Our history with these critters doesn't hurt either.....the old girl she gonna be rockin' to her foundation.

Ralph, while it was a great, great game, I'd rather not have to live through another of those.....the old ticker just ain't what she used to be....I barely survived the last one!

Seriously, best of luck to your kids. Hope we get your best shot and that we return the favor and we'll see what happens. It should be a good one.....
