Dave will like this, but the rest of us will wonder how tripe like this gets on the NYT in the first place.

    Corporate Greed

I guess this guy wants the Corporations to ride to their deaths while holding up the workers, who in the end will all be out of jobs instead of just some of them. And investors, well screw them for having extra money to invest in the first place...bunch of rich damn fat cats!

Nope. I don't wonder at all....in my view, the Times hasn't been a credible news organization for the better part of this generation.....

The real criminal here is uncertainty.....at the height of the downturn, there was meaningful uncertainty about its depths and duration and those in decision making positions must always err on the side of conservatism.....at the beginning of the upturn, there was meaningful uncertainty about the timing and speed of the recovery and business was getting hammered as the White House was waging a political war against the business and investing class....as we sit today, meaningful uncertainty about the cost of the new healthcare regs, fin reg and the uncertain but sad prospect of higher taxes and an added burden on investment income that ironically at the end of the of the day, that is what is needed mosts critically ......what this admin does not understand - even at it's most elementary levels - is that a growing economy requires investment to initiate and sustain growth......the more burdensome and punitive that policy and admin jawboning is on investment, the less capital there will be commited to investment....it really ain't rocket science, but these guys just don't get it and we have and will suffer as a result.....but of course it will be the fault of business and the investing class

So let's get their straight....Corporations make money by selling products to consumers. Their employees and employees of other corporations are consumers. When their employees are laid off they have much less purchasing power and consumer demand goes down. So we can summarize this article as American corporations must be behind the unemployment problem since the "blame Bush" ******** isn't working any more.

Therein lies one of the fundamental flaws in the leftist agenda..... corporate America isn't owned by fat cats on Wall Street seated in mahogany lined rooms smoking cuban cigars, it is primarily owned by those that invest in mutual funds, those that have pensions, those that have religious and charity involvement, those that have have ties to institutions of higher learning, those that are union members, those that have 401 (k)s or other retirement vehicles..... To the point, some of the worlds largest - non-sovereign country investors...

the California public employee retirement funds have an investment portfolio in exess of $360 Billion.....no doubt all sitting around mahogany walled conference rooms smoking cubans.....

The endowments of the Ivy League schools aggregate to more that $70 Billion to use for obvious purposes....

The worlds largest non-religious charitable foundation is Bill and Melinda Gates which is now in excess of $35 Billion whose mission is to fight world poverty, working for healthcare for the poor, and education. Dirty bastards.....

If you've ever been to the Vatican, you might get a sense of the scale of what some of the religious foundations might approach that they use all no doubt to advance their nefarious anti-working man agenda.....

This is the dirty little secret - that is really not a secret - that keeps biting the lefties in the ass......
