Awesome course, should be a great tournament. Lets continue using the Yahoo contest we have been using all summer. OK? I wonder if anybody will go with Tiger or Phil on their team?
Bet on the golfer whose caddy bought the best insect repellent. SE Wisconsin had a Monsoon rainstorm in late July and it is supposed to rain most of this week with hot, humid weater in the 80s until at least Saturday. Llloyd and I were Sunday lunch for the mosquitoes that took over the dog park. I think when I retire, it will be somewhere above the Arctic Circle that is bug fee for 11 1/2 months a year.
I hear ya Bobda....I saw one during my trip to the motherland last week on the golf course that was standing flat footed humpin' a Turkey...
Sid!! It was a Big Ass mosquito!! This thing had a heart....I swear I saw call letters and numbers on the side of this thing.... ** AJ the Cornhusker has shows Mon-Thurs from Feb till late Aug......Then All week from late Aug till the DVD sales are over...**
  Tiger slipping with 2 bogeys one on a almost 600 yd par 5, he used to eat those up, he's got another one coming up so maybe he can at least birdie that one.
He hit some really good putts today that just hung on the lip or burned the edge. He easily could have been 4 or 5 under. He did however hit one really wild drive.
The Majors have just been outstanding this year. The PGA might have out done them all. So many guys in contention, toss in Steve Elkington, the collapse of Nick Watney, the resurrection of Dustin Johnson from his debacle at Pebble Beach only to be crushed by a technicality on the sand trap. Rory McIlroy, Martin Kaymer are outstanding young players who will be fun to watch in the Ryder Cup. Initially I thought that Johnson was screwed by the rules, but after listening to the guy from the PGA go over how the made the "if you are on sand you are in a trap' the prime directive. I concluded that Dustin Johnson either didn't listen to well in the meetings or he was just caught up in the moment and had an unfortuneate lapse in his knowledge of the local rules. I think it wouldn't have hurt anything for the PGA rules offical with that group to have warned him that he was in a trap. I have to admit I really enjoyed watching Bubba Watson. Who the hell are those guys named Tiger and Phil...a couple of has beens.
Not to sound like AJ (who'd want to do that ) but where was his caddy to suggest he check to see if he was in a bunker. And I agree with you about the rules official with the group. He could have at least approached Johnson and said "any questions?"
THERE'S ANOTHER ONE THAT NEEDS TO GET FIRED. I know there are hundreds and hundreds of bunkers on that course, but why was the gallery allowed to stand in them? Like Johnson said, there was people standing there when his ball went into the crowd? I thought it was just a chewed side of a hill.
I heard Steve Elkington being interviewed on the radio today. He said that when he's in a tournament, he reads the local rules every day. Sometimes there's a broken sprinkler leaving water standing on the course or a number of other things that could come up. The local rules for the PGA were posted all over the locker room including above the urinals. Johnson should have at least thought of asking what the sand below his ball was.
