    The Lynch story is from the Chicago Sun-Times, which is also monitoring several Irish web sites...

    I think we are entering a new era of Irish football. A much quicker, athletic era.

    Jalen Brown??? Wow I just read that, that's sort of out or no where. I don't think he has even visited ND yet. Great pickup.

    Lynch this weekend as well...incredible!!

    From what I read Brown hasn't visited yet. We do need CBs though so maybe Kelly and company were after him hard. <E>8)</E></r>

    <r>Updated Recruiting rankings:<br/>

    While we are "only" number 6 in the overall rankings, a quick sort by teams with the most top 100 recruits, puts us in pretty elite recruiting company.<br/>

    Teams with more than 1 of the top 100 recruits:<br/>
    Texas - 10 (just ridiculous)<br/>
    tOSU - 5<br/>

    Yeah Texas really has hit one out of the park this year.

    The rest esp teams like UF will be waiting on elite prospects who sign late.

    I think we'll hold on in the end and have a class ranked no higher than #5 and no lower than #10. If Kelly has an excellent first year he might get some of the highly rated players he's still after, like the Richardson kid or maybe the Huggins kid or ?

    I think with 3 true Freshman QB's that Kelly will pass on QB and I don't blame him, of the 3 really only 1 can play, barring injuries, so that would leave at least 1 redshirt or maybe 2 for next year. Then Kelly looks to be in good shape to sign a top QB with Mauk and Gray Crow the leading candidates.

    You are right about next year's QB class. Looks like ND will have a choice of some very high quality QBs. <br/>
    <br/>
    I think the Huggins kid is still a good possibility.<br/>
    <br/>
    Man I'm ready for kickoff, Sept 4 can't get here soon enough. Who do we play again?...just kiddin. It's my favorite....PURDUE!!! <E>:D</E></r>

    ND looking like mid top 10 for sure.

    UF at #12 this early in the process with only 12 commits bears well for a top ten finish because the Gators always get em late.....like in the Army all-star game etc.

    With the talent that Meyer has been accumulating in Gainesville, he's sort of in the position that Bobbah Bowden was during his hey day. In those days FSU always had a top 5 class, and they didn't have squat till after the season then Bowden would lock up a ton of 4* and 5* players in the last 6 weeks. He was a great closer in those days and had a lot to sell.

    Kelly will need to win on the field before he can compete for the recruiting championship with the likes of Mack Brown.

    re: Scout rankings

    Harbaugh is doing an amazing job at Stanford...

    What's going on at Michigan? Is that a crowd with pitchforks and torches that I see coming down the road?

    Washington is slowly coming back under Sarkisian...

    <r>I think if Rich Rod ends up with less than 8 wins Mich will be introducing their next head coach come Dec and his name is Harbaugh. <E>:)</E></r>

    I didn't realize that Lynch was the grandson of Jim Lynch. I'm OK when classmates sons like Connor Hanratty get recruited but, hell, I saw Lynch play when I was at ND and now his GRANDSON is going? WOW! I feel really old.
    Lynch's dad was a tough, tough linebacker and he was team captain. We can only hope that the young man plays with the same skill and intensity. I can't wait to see this kid play.

    Are you sure Aaron Lynch is the Grandson of Jim Lynch? Where this is the first I've heard of it.

    Nice article in ISD about him. His grandfather died in May. they brought some of his ashes on his visit to the school. Touching.
