It's about time we stole some guys from your state, after all the players you've pulled in from us! :D

    Recruit from FL

I hear we've got a 4 star DB listening as well.

See... joining the SEC is already paying off for us! oh wait... :?

It is interesting to recruit for the 3-4 isn't it. You get some guys who believe that unless they play in the 4-3 in college their future career in the NFL is compromised. But they fail to see that many if not all the top defenses in the NFL (Pittsburgh, NE, Green Bay, etc) are all 3-4 teams.

There does seem to be a lot of OLB/DE types in HS who are good fits for the 3-4 though. DB's of course it doesn't make a difference.

I have read that there is starting to be some feeling in college that the 3-4 is the better defense for the various spread offenses.

There is good and bad when recruiting to the 3-4.
It's great for LB's and rush DE's. They get the glory.
It's really HARD to recruit DT's and Noseguards.
Those guys are bascially asked to "hold the line" and allow the LB's to make all the plays.

Hopefully the fact that the NFL is using it extensively will make it somewhat easier than it was when we ran it back in the RC days.

    kp,

    Guys like Cody are rare.

We had our share when our defenses were great:
Sam Adams, and Ty Warren come to mind.

The problem isn't how they are treated when they are that good, it's convincing a 17 year old that he'll receive his share of attention when all the competing coaches are telling them they'll be buried in the trenches.
