Have you ever been on the Suwannee River when the Sturgeon are jumping. I was reading a story about a lady who was driving a jet ski when one of them jumped into her path. She was severly injured, apparently this isn't that uncommon.

Never had a run-in with a sturgeon but I almost took a 5' barracuda in the side of the head in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas. We had a chum slick going and I guess he ran up the slick and when he got to the boat he went airborne. He went right past my nose, starboard to port, while I was rigging a line.

I knew a boat captain here at the Jersey Shore who had a nasty circular scar just below his sternum. I asked him about it and he turned around and showed me matching scar on his back. Turns out he was trying to bring a blue marlin through the transom of his boat when the fish lunged and ran him through. he had to be medivaced by Coast Guard helicopter from 70 miles off shore.

I have seen a couple of stories about people getting "speared" by bill fish. That has to really hurt...not to mention you could lose your life.

Yikes, I don't know which story sounds worse..... No Terry I have not had the good fortune to float on the Suwannee but I have heard of a couple story's like you described. I have been beat up pretty well by a 100+ lb tarpon that jumped in the boat. I feel for anyone who gets drilled by a fish no matter how much I continue to laugh at them.
