are not going at the premium that the did once at several high profile places.
    UGA Season Tickets
    Tenn

Notre Dame has not sold all tickets to all games, we don't go for season tickets like the rest of college football, but still there are more than a few individual game tickets available and most if not all ND alumni have recieved notes from the University about availablity of tickets for all games except the Michigan game.

I didn't read the articles but I can also attribute the decline to TV coverage. Fans of all programs are benefiting from the TV contracts that are putting games on TV every week. Even with the decline in the success of the Tennessee program, there was only one game that was not televised last year. All were televised the year before. That was not the case in even our last championship year in 1998 or the Manning years from 1994 to 1997.

I'm sure that demand will increase once the S#!+ taste of Kiffin fiasco and less than stellar success is gone from our collective mouths. But not to the levels it was before TV contracts.

Terry the notification I got even had Michigan tickets available but they were single seats only.
My son picked up a couple of Purdue tix yesterday but I was stuck in a golf outing and by the time I had a chance to pick up some most games were no longer available. I think Western Mich. and Tulsa tix were still for sale.

Strong start to the season and tickets will start going like hot cakes, but weak start and you might see problems with the sellout streak vs Tulsa and W.Mich.

One thing for certain, they will be available on Stub Hub/ebay/etc.

I wouldn't think teams like Alabama, or Florida would be in the same situation as UGA/Tenn/ND they are coming off great seasons with much anticipation of another great season.

Irish have been fortuneate, we have been struggling to some degree or another since 1993, have had some excellent seasons interspesed in there but a lot of bad seasons, yet it's only finally begining to sink in with the fan base and demand is now down. I expect in the end all the games will be sold out, but they will be sold out through non-traditional methods that reach fans who have never been able to get ND tickets at face value. An excellent season by Kelly and we'll be back. I wonder if Fla had endured what ND has for the last 17 years if the Swamp would be still sold out.

Unlike other college teams that draw fans almost exclusively from the home state, ND fans travel from all over the country to attend games. Flying from Seattle or Atlanta into Chicago and driving to South Bend to go to to a game is not like driving to Gainsville from St. Pete. Last time I looked, the economy sucked.
Even if their were you'd need a valid credit card to buy them.

I needed 2 for the Alabama/Ole Miss game and I paid $160 each for end zone.

Dang KP...here is the StubHub link again:

    http://www.stubhub.com/search/doSearch?searchStr=Alabama+Crimson+Tide&pageNumber=1&resultsPerPage=50&searchMode=event&start=0&rows=50

Says you could have bought Ole Miss tickets at $105.00 ea. on the low side.

FYI...it has UF third highest before the 265.00 for Auburn and the 324.00 for PSU.

Interesting Mich vs ND two teams not much is expected of this fall and have fallen on hard times Stub Hub ticket prices range up to 1176 for this game.

Alabama vs UF, two teams that much is expected of not just both contending for the SEC championship, but the National Championship and there is a revenge factor for Gator fans have prices ranging up to 1700 on Stub Hub.

Then we go to the USC vs ND, again teams with many questions, USC probation, ND who knows what we'll be at the end of the season, and we've been hammered by USC recently. Yet the ticket prices range up to 3000 on Stub Hub.

Games at the Swamp though are very pricey, with the high end asking price of 7500. Highest asking price at ND this year is 5000 for Purdue and Pitt.

I'm not sure what drives ticket prices beyond supply demand, maybe for some games people aren't going to sell their tickets, won't even offer to see how much they can get so that keeps price low. At ND the UM game is certainly bigger than the Purdue game but maybe people who got UM tickets are holding them and not driving up prices, while Purdue and Pitt have high prices as ticket holders try to capitalize.

Terry it's possible some of the high end speculators are just that....speculators trying to see what they can get.

When the tickets actually start selling is when you begin to get a true read but I do think the low end prices probably do represent what you would have to pay presently although choice seats are definitely well higher than the low end pricing.

    MCG,
I bought them on Stubhub about 3 weeks ago and that was the best price at the time. I went to this site on your recommendation and so far I am not impressed.

    I see.

Apparently someone has dropped some cheaper tix in on the site for that game.

I guess that's how it works out sometimes.

I know the site for a seller is very convenient, trustworthy and effective.

Yeah, StubHub may not be the best guage of what game is the most important. This week the Ole Miss game is a lot less "important" to fans than it was 3 weeks ago.

I believe it depends on the indvidual seller Kp.

When I sell on the site I always look to see what the going rate is for my type of seats and I try to be a little above average...slightly and willing to go down if they don't move fast enough.

You could have waited until Sept. or so but who knows....the tickets could go up in price by then....or down.

Yeah I had to have the tickets in order to invite a friend from out of town. If it falls through I will probably have to pay a lot more.
