I thought it was the Obama defense
    BLAME BUSH :!:

By the way what goes around.....
I seem to recall that ND got slapped because it didn't know that some players were getting gifts from a girlfriend who went to the football luncheons (to meet the players.)
If the coach is supposed to know what gifts players are getting from girlfriends, shouldn't they know about houses they're getting from agents?

    FYI-

The head coach, Holtz, did in fact have an assistant coach look into the relationship with that gal. The assistant coach, Urban Meyer, is the one who reported back to Holtz that it seemed like the player(s) had simply found themselves a rich girl who wanted to party with players. I also believe that, in defense of Urban Meyer..write this day down, he had noted that it would look bad if the school were investigating the private lives of young black men who were dating a rich white woman... I happen to agree with him. Hindsight is 20-20, but to be in that moment, I wouldn't want to touch that with a 10 foot pole.

Funny, I don't remember Carroll being upset one bit when the NCAA hit Alabama pretty hard. Of course this time is different.

Little late with this. Does anybody think that Pete's concerned that his legacy at USC has been tarnished beyond repair?

No doubt, he wants to be seen as Clean Pete, not Dirty Pete.
