Big East set to expand

    I've been reading that UCF and Memphis are going to be invited, that would take it from it's current 8 team football league to a 10 team league. But more importantly it would make it a huge basketball league, going from 16 to 18 teams. That's going to be a bit of a scheduling problem. Even breaking up into 2 divisions that would mean 16 division games and if you did the other division home/home over 2 years it would mean 25 league games every year....hardly any room for non-conference play since most teams schedule somewhere around 30 regular season games I think.

    Maybe they are going with the too big to fail thing! :)

    I hope UCF makes it in. I am not sure that USF would like that but I hope it happens.

    I don't know if it is well known or not but UCF is now the largest state college in Florida, over 50,000 students. They have an on campus stadium and a new basketball arena.

    I think they could come into their own.
