I'm not surprised. You could see it coming. The team's performance has tailed off precipitously since Manieri left. I'm sure it was a tough decision but it had to be made. ND Fires Baseball Coach
It had to be done. I feel bad for the guy, it was his dream to coach at ND, and he lost his wife right after he took the job. But the team has regressed and even though the Big East is not a strong baseball conference we were no longer competitive. People are talking about one of Coach Manieri's former assistants who is now the HC at UCF, he was the pitching coach. I wonder if Corey will throw his hat in the ring!!
I want Corey so I can get free tickets to the home games (They cost $1.00 for seniors, $2.00 for everyone else).
hell Sid, I'd put you in the dugout. There has to be a legacy connection to the history of the program. As much as I bleed gold and blue through and through, I'm a hired gun winner. Resume on the way. I won't get it.. but they won't hire me if I don't apply ps There has to be someone to keep me from plunking everyone who stands there and watches their home runs... but my staffs don't give up a lot of those.. someone's gotta be the voice of reason though
Internet says ND is about to hire the BC baseball coach, MikAoki. He has been the HC at Columbia as well as BC, seems to have done a good job given they are both northern schools with little commitment to baseball. So I assume that Swarbrick figures he's a young guy who just needs more commitment from the School/AD for the baseball program. It's pretty clear that a Northern school is probably never going to be able to make that "wow" hire. Those guys all are in the South and West and want to stay there. Aoki to ND
