I think we need to agree on terms.. Dr. Tom = Tom Osborne Tom = Traveling Tom or TT as he likes to be known!
LOL... I'm not so sure though....but knowing Dr. Tom and his past actions....somethings brewing.... :?:
I will say this though, I agree with most articles and blogs lately that claim that the real target of the Big 11 is NOTRE DAME. If the Big Ten gets them, I don't think they're worried about anybody else. The rest would be just gravy.
Chip Brown of Orangeblood.com has tweeted... Of course according to Delaney, the B10 hasn't made it's decision yet.
Just my opinion but if the Huskers join the BT, I can't see Mizzou staying around. At that point the addition of Rutgers might still be in the works. If the Big East is fracturing ND's non revenue sports will have to go somewhere. With everyone moving why not have an Academic Conference. One where the majority of players can and will graduate. How about Stanford Cal Northwestern Vandy Ga. Tech Va. Duke ND. We could call it the poison ivy league.
I'll miss you guys, good luck in the B10. Membership should open up the Midwest more for you in terms of recruiting. I'm actually very sorry the B12 is apparently done, it was an excellent conference. Oh well.
Interesting things are swirling. Texas and A&M officials will apparently meet today to see if there's a way to save the XII. Probably not, but they will discuss. If not... they'll discuss where we go. According to this, A&M has a possible invite to the SEC. SEC? We are a much better cultural fit with the SEC, and I kinda hope we go there and let Texas go to the PAC. I think this would really help A&M. We'd have a LOT to sell recruits that Texas... WOULD NOT.
I do think there are advantages to going to the SEC, travel would be the big one IMHO. PAC 10 destinations are all 2 timezones, and while that's not that big a deal for football, the rest of the sports could be a problem. Being a part of the SEC West would make Alabama the furthest destination. Also for families of recruits who like to travel to see their son's play, SEC west destinations will be more attractive and driveable than places like Corvalis, Pullman, and Seattle. The rumours are also that Missouri is not going to get that B10 invite after all and that means to keep the B12 we'd onlyhave to replace the Huskers. There isn't anybody with the Huskers name to do the job, but maybe moving OU and OSU to the North, Missouri to the South and adding TCU would save the conference. It would lessen our bargining chips with TV unfortuneately and that would be tough, plus with out Neb the conference would be considered weaker. If we all go to the Pac10 and form a PaC10 East division with ASU and UA then I think that would work just fine for travel. I just wonder what will happen to Kan/KState/IOwa State/Baylor/Missouri Terry
Colorado prempted any Baylor moves in the Texas Leg, by making their own deal with the Pac10. They are now set to announce going to the Pac10 tomorrow and of course Neb will also announce it's leaving. Now it will have to be sorted out whether the Big 12 South minus Baylor moves as a unit to the Pac10 or will they split and some go west and some go east. Bill what are they saying over on Gator boards, is the SEC making plans to offer B12 schools? If you guys take 4 more teams how do you see your divisions shaping up? Terry
Doc, you're gonna make me cry...(man hug).... Oh well, moving on.....now.....where's those friggin' Bucktesticle fans at anyway?.......oh, yeah....and that MeChicken guy also..... ....to be continued..... 8)
Well how about this musical chair. B10 steals RU/Syracuse/Pitt from Big East. Big East collapses. SEC steals FSU/Clemson/Miami/Ga.Tech from ACC or some combo...ACC collapses Big East and ACC merge, bring along ND with an agreement for ND to play a certain number of football games and be a full member in all other sports. But retain independence in football and the NBC contract.
