    Perhaps the most successful and beloved Hoosier of all time. A 3-time All-American at Purdue. Married his HS sweetheart. Strong Indiana roots that he acknowledged throughout his life.

    <t>Was afraid this was coming when I saw he was in grave condition. Living in Virginia in the early seventies a buddy of mine and I went to Maryland to watch the "Maryland Classic" where UCLA played Maryland and just destroyed a good UM team then after the game we went on the floor and asked Coach Wooden to sign my friends book. The man could not of been nicer and spoke with us. What an honor that was.</t>
