That's going to be weird, possibly playing in freezing conditions. Could we have another Cowboys/Packers game in Lambeau? I think it was way below zero. Certainly NYC as a destination is a good thing, there is lots of hotel space and lots of things for fans to do. I just feel for the players, but not too much as they might have played in worst conditions at NE or Green Bay or Chicago, or Philly just a few weeks earlier.
Doc Becauce the NYC area is close to the ocean, their winters are somewhat milder than what we get in the upper Midwest. Yeah, they get snow and some cold but highs in the single digits are pretty rare. Now if the Giants and Jets get to the Super Bowl, look out...
We don't get extreme cold very often. There will be playoff games leading up to the SB that are much colder. And I'm not sure about the stadium yet but wind could be a factor though this new stadium is oriented differently. Instead of Punt, Pass & Kick and other traditional SB festivities we will offer three card monte, hookers at every parking lot sign and inexpensive windshield cleaning with a little snot, a three day old NY Post and a lot of elbow grease.
Average high temp in NYC for Feb. 5 when SB is scheduled to be played is 40 degrees. Certainly acceptable football weather unless of course you live is some place like Houston.
